Jennifer Aniston may have skipped the red carpet at the Oscars, but she shone on stage. Leave it to Jen to have a simple but glamorous hairstyle, along with a sun-kissed face shown off by a genuine smile. "She is the quintessential California glamour girl," says makeup artist Angela Levin. "She was radiant as always on Oscar night."
Want to recreate the look at home? Levin, working largely with Chanel Beauté, shared her step-by-step secrets.
For the tutorial, read more.
- Skin: After moisturizing Jennifer's skin, Levin applied Chanel Lift Lumiere foundation in Beige, concealing undereye circles with the matching concealer. Instead of blush, she dabbed Hydrabase lipstick in Coco Red on the apples of Jennifer's cheeks. After that, she dotted Sheer Brilliance in Sunkissed around the tops of Jen's cheekbones. (This captures light with a slight shimmer.) A bit of powder bronzer gave Jen a sunny glow.
- Eyes: Jen wore Lorac eye shadows in Jade (green) and Serenity (bronze), along with Tina Earnshaw shadow in Aubergine. She closely lined the top and bottom lashes with black eye shadow. A coat of Chanel Inimitable mascara in black finished the look.
- Lips: Lucky Jen got a preview of Chanel's forthcoming Aqualumiere Lipshine in Panarea. Get a similar look with a deep rose, creamy lipstick or Chanel's Aqualumiere in Yucatan.

This is not a look I would try to copy anytime soon. She has looked better.
1she's got the lc braid thing going on...
2Not a fan of the makeup, but her hair looks fab.
3A "BIT of powder bronzer"!?
4am I the only one who thinks her skin looks like red leather in this picture? It's like she went overboard with the fake tanner/tanning booth... she normally looks much MUCH better than this
5Crappy makeup, beautiful hair!
6Poisona you are not the only one. Her skin usually looks really nice. This makes her look sunburned.
7I don't think she looks sunburned; I think it's the lighting. Check the pictures in the gallery — she looks gorgeous, I think.
8If she looks prettier in the gallery pictures (which she does) why did you choose this picture where she looks like a tomato?
9I'm so glad she did something different with her hair, even if it is a total LC ripoff, but my god her face looks like orange leather.
10Kastarte2, I think it was a Photoshop snafu. It should be fixed now.
11I really liked her hair, but not for the Oscars. With a great sundress at a BBQ, yes. But not here.
12Her hair looks too juvenile and prom, but the makeup and dress is beautiful.
13Not a big fan of this look.
14homegirl looks burnt! she looked much better from far away. i thought the hair was cute but not appropriate with the dress.
15at least i'm definitely not the only one who thinks that she went a little OTT with the make-up...
16To be honest this reminds me of Lauren Conrad, and I also think that it is a nice look, but just a bit to "ordinary" for the Oscars - that makeup with an updo on the other hand...
17I like her hair.
18Why would I want to look like this... this is not attractive. I also saw that glance she threw Brangelina's way... I mean, seriously, get over it.
19I think she looks gorgeous - love her hair - and her glowing make up.
There are other actresses that I think are more beautiful - but I find Jennifer Aniston's style easy to relate to...and she always puts the effort in - and it shows!
20Jen has always had a laid-back California style, i like it he's true to her personality
21i meant she!
22I've seen her look loads better but her dress was very pretty. I just don't like the hair.
23I don't like the hair. It's much too young and casual, especially for the occasion and for a women who just turned 40.
The makeup isn't bad, but again it's too casual for my liking. However, the dress is pretty.
24She looks pretty...I adore her hair. Anything with braids is right up my alley--love the boho vibe.
25I love her hair style. It may be youngish, but she certainly pulls it off.
26I love Jen to death. She is so pretty but, yes her hair did look cute for a walk o the beach not for elegant Oscar night. The dress was perfect but a classy up do or just something different would have been better. I think the pic does look bad. She looks all oily and red but I think it is the lighting or too much lighting and she is sweating. Bad pic because she always looks radiant. I still love ya Jen
27I didn't see her presenting an award. Is there any way I can view it now? Does anyone know how to see it at this time?
You know I really like her hair, I wish there was a tutorial for that too.
28I'm glad to know I'm not the only make-up artist (or for that matter, person) who uses lipstick as blush. But I think the bronzer was over the top. Aside from that, Jen looks great.
