When you think of discount supermarket chain Aldi, premium European skincare lines probably don't come to mind. Well, think again. The German-based retailer just began selling Lacura, an award winning private-label skincare line in its US stores. The Lacura collection features 16 items, including cleansers, toners, facial creams, eye creams/gels, lip balm, and facial masks. The most insane part? The products fall within the $2 to $5 range.
If you like creamy-based cleansers, the Hydrating Facial Cleanser ($3) is for you. I also tried the Hydra Complete Cream ($5), an effective lightweight moisturizer that smells like sea minerals — and it's blue. I have to admit I'm impressed with the overall quality and selection of the Lacura products, especially with ingredients like coenzyme Q10, provitamin B5, bioflavonoids, and hydrating sea minerals in the mix. To find out what my favorite items were, read more.
My two favorite products were the Moisturizing Eye Cream ($4), which had a not-too-sticky and not-too-slippery consistency, and the Gentle Lip Care Pearl & Shine (three for $2), a balm that gave my lips a bit of a light pink sparkle. But next time I'll pass on the Hydra Complete Mask ($3), which had too much of a wet texture for my liking. All-in-all, Lacura is a very pleasant line, and for the extremely low prices, it's certainly worth trying.

I don't think there is one in MA.
1I'd be curious to see a list of ingredients and see how many fillers there are and where on the list these key ingredients are?? No Aldi around for me anyway.
2I switched to this line two weeks ago and I LOVE it. It's just as good as the pricey stuff. I love Aldi!
** My only caveat is the fragrance, it's more "perfumey" than the new "fresh" fragrance’s we're used to now. It does dissipate quickly, though.
3Will definitely try this!
4I love Aldi, I miss them like crazy now that I moved to the south. . . .
5NONE IN THE NEW YORK CITY AREA...AND COULDN'T FIND AN ONLINE STORE....
6omg! where is this place???
7I'm not sure how I feel about this. I have an Aldi close to my house, so maybe I'll stop by and check these out. I want to see if they're actually decent products.
8My hubby and I do most all of our grocery shopping at Aldi. There, I can get a cartload of food for the same price as a few items at the bigger chain grocery stores. I don't have to worry about checking prices, I just put it in the cart. I saw these beauty products the last time I was grocery shopping and was very curious. Thanks Bella for checking them out and doing a post about them!!!
9Aldi does have some pretty good deals. I'd seen this in their flyer and wondered if it was worth a try. I didn't realize it was so inexpensive!
PS I live in the South and there's one not 20 minutes away.
10Are these available outside of the US?
11My mom just bought me the Hydra Complete cream, and it is just what I have been looking for in a moisturizer! It's very lightweight, and has made my skin feel so soft that
12ugh, accidentally hit enter...The moisturizer makes my skin feel so soft that I can't stop touching it. I'm anxious to try the masks and eye creams now!
13I bought the eye gel and the regular lip balms and I love both! Four bucks for the eye gel, which is great for in the morning, and two bucks for three lip balms. Good deals.
14I wanted to try the milk&honey lip balm, but I was scared of it. The only reason I didn't get a cream or cleanser is I'm trying to "shop in my bathroom" and find things I forgot I had to use instead of buying new products.
Wow, i'm off to Aldi tomorrow, definitely gotta check these out. Thanks, Bella!
15Do you know if any Aldi stores stock these products outside of the US?
16I saw these last time I was at Aldi, but kind of dismissed them. I never really equate Aldi with quality skin care. Thanks so much for writing about it...I'm thrilled to hear you liked it! I will definitely be picking some up next time I'm there!
17My friend gave me one of her milk and honey lip balms and I like it. It's the same consistency as the regular w/ a honey smell and a bit of the flavor. I like them.
18I want to try the gel eye cream. My allergies are giving me the puffiest eyes in the morning!
19i have the exfoliating mask and the hydrating face cream and it's AWESOME!!! i was skeptical at first, and i have eczema so i'm usually cautious about what i put on my face. the sea minerals in the face cream has worked wonders for my dry skin!!! i noticed a difference, literally, in 24 hours. i have the pearl lip stuff; i don't love the way it feels on my lips, however it leaves this gorgeous sheen behind that brightens up my face! great stuff! dying to try the mascara!!!
20I have had the driest skin for the past 8 months. It had gotten so bad I was actually using lotion on my face. I was shopping at Aldi a few weeks ago and saw the moisterizer, I decided to get it, and I am so pleased with the results. My skin is now soft, and no longer dry. I had tried many products, both high end and lower, and none helped like this one. I went back and bought the facial cleanser today, and the two together is unbeatable, just like the price!
21love the product too, the only thing I have complaints about is,when they come out with new products ,like the serum and firming cream for neck and face,it's only for a short time, you get "hooked" and then you can't get it again.
22The European version is called Biocura and is exactly the same, my mom has bought me some of the stuff over there in Denmark
