Ever wanted to get a tan while punching numbers at your desk? Babyassface tipped me off to this website called Computer Tan. The concept is pretty strange: They claim that their technology converts the electrical impulses of your LCD monitor into ultraviolet rays that then create a tan in your skin. (A test makes sure that the amount of exposure is calibrated to match your skin tone.)
Computer Tan's officials say that using their tanning technology is safer than baking in the sun or using a tanning bed. They claim the ability to strip the harmful parts of UV exposure, therefore preventing damage to the skin. A base tan takes four to five sessions within a 10-day period to develop, and it lasts for one to two weeks. You know I always say there's no such thing as a safe tan — and perhaps the Computer Tan people feel the same way — but if you're willing to give it a go, the company offers a free five-minute trial.

Please tell me that this is a very elaborate April Fools joke.
Must be an April Fools Day joke.
That was really smart. I like that. My Grandpa had melanoma skin cancer and I have a very fair complexion. I'm glad to see that they're reinforcing the dangers of tanning. Good deal!
Is this an April Fool's joke??????? If not, this is crazy.
The site is real — go check it out!
great site! =)
I was just talking about how this would be a popular idea.
Great way to get the point across! I hope more people follow the link.
Wow. I stay out of tanning beds anyway, but that'll give you the willies.

Yeah, this has got to be a joke.
They lead you on for a WHILE before you get the punch line..... But it seems pretty sketchy from the introduction of the "spokesperson." Very very important message.

That sounds like the worst idea in the world .... I'm already worried enough about radio waves and radiation from staring at a screen all day long.

bs.
YAY now you can get cancer at work!
It's a joke, people. If you start the trial, it basically tries to fool you for a second, and then shows you nasty pictures of skin cancer. It says something like "skin cancer isn't a joke" and then you have the option to comment, fool someone else, or go to the skin cancer activism website.
That's crazy, I knew it couldn't be real.
oh yea, sure, & u can ‘grow' ur plants by the computure.just look at how the title says “bake”
It's a hoax. You can read about it here. http://www.spaweekblog.com/?p=1159
