How-To: Make a Gossip Girl-Inspired Headband
In these tough economic times, my new favorite saying is "why buy when you can DIY?" As much as I adore fancy hair adornments, I can't always justify the cost of the pricey barrettes and bands I covet. (
Sorry, Blair.) So, I headed to my local craft store and picked up enough goodies for several different projects. Up first: a couple lovely headbands created by moi. Get started with the step-by-step for this money-saving craft which wins compliments from friends and strangers alike.

Super cute!!!
1This is fun, but I have a feathered headband from Forever21 that was about $5.50. I'm not sure about the DIY-cost-savings there.
2Love it!
3Very cute, Bellasugar! www.bocagenewyork.com has some great supplies to make cute headbands like this.
4you can also get these pretty cheap on etsy from a number of sellers for under twenty dollars...
5Can you do a how-to on making a feather and veiled fascinator? I want to make one for my baby sister's prom, but I don't know where to start.
6Not sure how to do the netting, but I've had good luck with looking for "feather pads" at the craft store to start with for fascinators, and just using a large gymnastics clip underneath. The pads are just feathers laid out nicely and stuck to fabric. They really do make a good starting point. You can add other feathers, ribbon, whatever, with a hot glue gun.
