Here in Northern California, there are ample opportunities to let it all hang out — from nude spas and beaches to hot springs that allow you to go au naturel. But are you a scaredy cat when it comes to disrobing in public?
Recently, I had to the chance to visit a "clothing-optional" hot springs village, and although I couldn't make the trip, my friends that dared to bare said it was refreshing to be around people comfortable in their own skin — scars, hair, and bumps included. Most of you don't enjoy showering in public, but when it comes to the relaxing atmosphere of a spa and/or beach, is there comfort in numbers, or is your outlook unchanged?

There's a nude beach in Orlando and I went on my birthday two years in a row. I love it!
1I haven't been to a nude spa or beach, though I have enjoyed the topless deck on a cruise ship before. My friend and I didn't think it was any big deal (and a great way to get rid of our tan lines!), except that there were some creepy guys up there, obviously hanging out to get a sneak-peek. We just ignored them.
2Oh! I forgot I have been to a clothing-optional hot springs in Southern Cali -- since it was separated by gender, I didn't find anything odd. But def interesting to see how bodies age!

10I was surprised with a spa trip by my husband, and found myself alone around lots of naked women. Thinking I would have really stuck out in a swimsuit, I just grabbed a towel and went for it. Part of me wishes I wasn't by myself, but the other part of me doesn't really want to see my friends unclothed. Awkward...
11I went to nude beaches in Spain and France. I was 17 then... That was a bit awkward, but I kinda got over it.

15I've never been to a specifically nude beach, but I've been to Spain. People are just nude...no sign. haha. I would be scared people are taking pictures and selling them or something.

17Everyone goes to nude bathhouses in South Korea at least twice a month (if not every week). It's a natural part of life.
18I've found that my own body-image improved massively once I started going, seeing as I found out what the average woman looks like naked.
You haven't lived until you've had a nude elderly woman walk up to you, decide that you're not doing a good enough job scrubbing your own back and proceed to scrub you down themselves.
I've been to Black's Beach a few times here in Southern California. It's fun... Mostly gay guys so no perverts to worry about really. Plus, who cares? If anyone's looking it's just because they think you're hot. :]
19I used to go to Baker Beach when I lived in SF. I never got completley naked, just topless. But when I went to St Martin last year, I took it all off!! I figured I had a slim to none chance of running into anyone I knew there--so I went for it, it was very liberating.
20My hubby and I honeymooned in Torremolinos, Spain on the Mediterranean coast (we met on a trip there 4 years prior to our wedding). Everyone was topless, but we expected that. We went for a walk along the beach early one morning and saw signs for "Playa naturalista"...we thought it meant a natural beach as there were lots of pretty native plants and trees. But, as we walked back to our hotel later in the morning, as people were beginning to come to the beach for the day, we found out quickly that "naturalista" means nude...not a stitch of clothing around! Call me a prude, but I didn't join the topless crowd nor the natural crowd!
21I haven't yet, but I'm sure I will eventually. It's no big deal, it's just being naked. Just have to be really careful with sunblock, don't want to get burned in any special places! But totally bring on the nudity!

23yep, in Korea. they've got amazing spas and everyone like to hang around in their birthday suit like it's nobody's business. i've never seen so many naked women before in my life so naturally, i felt awkward and out of place. the place also gave whole body scrubs where you get scrubbed from head to toe, i got it done but i refused to take my shorts off so i laid there topless. needless to say, i got so many stares and laughs for being the odd one out, but i didn't care.
oh, and my skin felt AMAZING after the scrub!
24About a month ago I went to a nude beach on an Sauvie's Island near Portland, OR. It was only weird because most of the people there were really old.

27hi i am a male , 17 .i thinking of going to a beach in greece which is not a nude beach but thier will not be many people around so i dont care. i have toned abs, arms ans legs. im just wondering about pubes i normally have a small trimed triangle shape with the rest compleatly shaved ( i also shave the top part of my legs, butt testical you know what i mean. but i was just wondering from a girls view what s the best pubic hair style to have : natural , all haved , trianle , landing strip .
im also thinking of going to the spa aswell wheer i will be nude. i want something that females in the spa will think that what i have looks sexy and modern.
