Back in college, I had a love/hate relationship with fake nails. While I loved that my nails almost always looked polished and pretty, I hated the upkeep — and the fact that I could never seem to get the relief I needed when I had a scratch. Do you hear me on that one?

yea, on and off. usually the normal french tip though. i like fake nails for the smooth surface to apply nail colors over.

2I would but I'm not sure about the unatural-ness of it. I'd be scared it would fall off and people would be like, um your nails are falling off.
3i love getting acrylics i love my nails being long my natural nails would not grow past my fingertips and it pisses me off haha
4I've worn fake nails in the past, and I loved it. The polish wouldn't ever chip and that was great! My natural nails grow so fast that I would have this big gap between my cuticle and the fake nail though, and that bugged me. Then when the economy slowed, I stopped having them done because it was expensive. I prefer my natural nails right now, I like them short and painted.
5Oh! And when I had them done, I totally did this look, the neon colored tips! My favorite was a light blue nail bed and a dark blue tip! Loved it!
6I havent wore fake nails in years. I am so thankful that my real nails are back to normal and healthy looking. My nail beds were awful from years of fake nail damage.
7My own nails are quite strong and grow to ridiculous lengths, so I don't really need to. Plus, I always have ink on my fingers and nails, and it would be harder to deal with if I had fakes.

12I bit my nails for years, and no matter how hard I tried on my own, I just couldn't break the habit. Finally, I tried wearing fake nails for a few months, and I got out of the habit of biting them. I really liked how clean and polished they looked. Now, my real nails have grown out, and so far I haven't bitten them once!

16No, but I used to wear acrylic tips back in my late teens/early 20s. Such a pain in the a** to upkeep, and it definitely gets expensive.
I would never get them again...I have pretty nice natural nails, and I'm embracing them!

18ive always really wanted to get fake nails, the natural pretty looking ones... because of appearance yes, but also to help my nail biting habit.
19I used to wear fake nails back in high school, but I stopped because it ruined my nails and I couldn't afford getting a fill. Having acrylic nails are great because your polish doesn't chip and you don't have to wait for your nails to grow. Now, I just grow my nails long.

21I have very brittle nails, and no amount of care will make then stronger.
I usually keep them short and unpolished so they wont snap when I'm at work or out and about.
Would love to get acrylics though, but I have to be picky with them, I've seen some horrible false nails out there.

24I started wearing acrylics because I had a job interview during finals and I had bitten the heck out of my nails. I loved how strong they were and how long the polish lasted so I've been keeping up with it.
I keep mine really short and rounded (I don't like the long, square look that screams "fake") and always have them polished. Most people are really surprised to hear they're fake because I always keep them fingertip short.
25i got acrylics with the rest of my friend's bridal party a few years ago... the next day i hacked and chipped them off because i couldn't stand the feeling of them! it still felt awful once they were off because they had ground down my real nails til they were pink (is that normal? so gross)... never again!! my nails never grow too long but they're not that short, i much prefer natural.
26I wore them back in high school, and then a few times in college. They were OK, but I'm more of a natural person and I got tired of them. Plus the upkeep is expensive. Now I just get manis and my hands look great!
27No I do not need them. I use this great nail hardener called Rejuvacote that keeps them long and strong.
28I've had acrylics maybe 3 or 4 times and don't like the upkeep. I have a few friends who occasionally use store bought fake nails and they actually look really good. They aren't as long/thick as acrylic so they look natural. I might give them a go.
29I loved my acrylic nails and wore them on and off for 10 years,until I developed an allergy to the powders they use. I had an awful red rash develop down my fingers and my cuticles started peeling. It was painful and pretty ugly. Now, I'm all natural.
30The thought of all the dirt and bacteria accumulating under badly attached nails grosses me out. My nails are natural and always nicely manicured.
31Sometimes sport length is cute.. and the designs can be fun. I would worry about losing them or getting one stuck in my hair or popping off painfully. Acrylics are the worst.. they ruin your nails. It makes decent nails weak and brittle. Plus they cause ridges and it takes months to grow out the damage.
32I wear them all the time, but I don't get into the fashion ones. When I wear fake nails, they're just the bland white ones from the drug store (or Wal-Mart). And lately I've been taking to cutting the little ends off them then filing them to close to fingertip length. I used to worry about having them fall off or get stuck in my hair, but since I learned to use glue on both the natural nail and the nail to put on, I haven't had a problem with them.
33no way, it's the tackiest thing ever. but a lot of people assume i do and ask me where i got my nails done...
34i think they look tacky especially the ones with 5 colors in 1 nail is that really necessary?
35i have worn fake nails once and i loved it but it rueined all my natural nails and never had them since i keep biting my nails its just a habbit, all my nails are a diiferent lenth but i dont worry anymore
36I think fake nails of any length are beyond tacky. French or Wild, Square or Round, they look so fake and cheesy.

38fake nails look so cheap, i never have and will never . It is dirty cheesy and gross, i can not understand why people love them.
39I used to get acrylics all the time, then I switched to UV gel nails. WOW - they look so much better than acrylics, and seem to last longer, too. But the expensive upkeep and the damage to my nailbeds caused me to stop. I've tried the Kiss 'Everlasting French' nails - they're surprisingly nice! They don't chew up your nail beds, and when you get tired of them, they come off easily.
40i hate my nails now they are doing my heading and all dirt get in them anybody got a suggestion how not to get dirt in your nails i just carry on with life and get the dirt out every day

43It's so funny that the kiss neon nails are the ones displayed because they are the only ones I wear! Everyone always thinks I'm wearing salon nails and compliments them-they are so natural looking!For those looking to try fake nails- Kiss everlasting nails are amazing!

47I had them a couple of times in my teens but stopped because they made my natural nails so disgusting when I took them off.
