Summer is tour time for musicians, but it's tour time for beauticians, too. The Hello Tomorrow Avon Beauty Tour is on the road, making stops all over the States to showcase Avon's new cosmetic lines. It features eight stations where you can get a free lip makeover, a product-sampling bar with previews of the fall color collection, and a chance to scoop up product samples galore. I think it's a good chance to check out Avon's goods in a no-pressure setting.
The tour has already hit cities including Fort Worth, Chicago and Indianapolis, but many stops remain. Have you been to any of the events? What do you think of beauty events like this one—do they make you more likely or less likely to buy the brand?

I don't think all the events in the world would make me want to put that crap on my face. Have you ever noticed how poorly done Avon and Mary Kay ladies' makeup is? I'd rather wear Wet n' Wild my whole life.

But, from a marketing standpoint, it's not such a bad idea.
I just checked out the schedule, and all the locations are at "fairs and festivals." I retract my previous statement.
2I think it's a smart idea, mostly because I feel obligated to buy something from local representatives, and I wind up avoiding Avon and Mary Kay altogether. But some of their products are actually pretty good, so this is a chance to take a look!
3I think its a great idea and though most of the time you are right kitson, I have seen women wearing that makeup that look great!

5I would never wear Avon - ever! Until I saw this exhibit this weekend. I usually do not fall for these gimmics but I have to say Avon is changing for the better. They had several cute girls working the exhibit, the exhibit was amazing and the lady that did my lip makeover did something that made my lips look so good that I hope I can do it myself. Plus, she went in the back and grabbed me a ton of free samples. I can't believe that I now have an Avon lady!!! Anyway, my lips look great! (08)
