By now, I am sure you've all at least sampled one of the most sought-after facial creams in the universe, Crème de la Mer. This moisturizer is packed with all kinds of goodness from the depths of the sea. And if you are the kind of gal who needs to see the proof in the pudding before you buy, just check out the skin on Madonna, Kim Cattrall, Sharon Stone, Nicolette Sheridan and Meryl Streep, all of whom have been loyal fans for years and years.
The original facial crème, which also comes in lotion form, now has another sister in this new Moisturizing Gel Cream ($195). Although it's not any cheaper (in fact, it actually costs more) this new version is more like the lotion than the original crème.
This ultra-soft and rich formulation is best suited for warmer, summery months. It still contains the magic healing ingredient called Miracle Broth, but the texture is much more liquefied and light. The promised result is deeply hydrated, firmer, more calm, renewed skin. I am dying to hear what you think, so please let me know if you try it!

I can't wait to try this!! I know there have been a lot of people opposed to using La Mer because it contained mineral oil, so maybe this product is geared towards them. They've already had the Oil-Absorbing lotion (awesome!) in the line-up, so it'll be interesting to see how this differs.
1Funny, I think half the people you mentioned are on my list of Not youtful looking skin. But I'll prob still try it
2i heard that since estee bought la mer, la mer isn't really the same anymore.
3i got the creme as a gift and it feels sooo greasy on my already oily skin...i dont know about this
4Excepting Streep, none of those women have very good skin...and this is waaaay too much for me to afford.
5None of those women have good skin!
6I LOVE Le Mer. I have very dry skin (my face hurts if I don't apply lotion twice a day), and Le Mer is so soothing. Makes my face feel like a baby tooshie!
I don't really need a lighter version, but I think women with combination skin/oily skin might find this version to be great for them.
7I'll give this a try!
8ok which one of you is buying this for me
9If I had more of a disposable income I'd try this.
10I just dont think its worth the money.
11I love this stuff -- it's my Holy Grail! I don't think it's great for oily skin though -- it's very thick. My skin's on the dry side, so it's a godsend.
12I haven't tried this new version, but if you have dry skin, the original La Mer is most definitely worth the price. I finally splurged on it awhile back after trying to find a less expensive option and I cannot believe how wonderful it feels. I only use it at night so the thickness of the original is fine for me.
13I'd love to try this one out! Pick me please ;o)
14Way overpriced for what is is. There are plenty of excellent moisturizers for $50 and less.
15I've tried the orignal version (the small sample size), and let me tell you my skin felt so smooth and silky. Other products I've used made my skin a little itchy. Not this one. I love this product, if I could afford it I would buy it all the time.
16I would love to try this...but it is soooo out of my price range! I have been using Estee Lauder Visible Renewal and I think they are similar. It might be just as good.
17I got my sample two days ago from my la mer lady and I love it. I have oily skin and it works great. I also have the original creme but only wear it at night. It makes my skin super soft and supple. It isn't overpriced either. You get what you pay for in this. It's just a matter if you can afford it.
18a little pricey for me but i'd try it if i could!
