Lauren Conrad is known for a lot of things: her stint on The Hills, her clothing line, and her contract with Mark cosmetics. And when it comes to her look, it's hard to picture her without a sweet side braid.
PopSugar caught up with LC and Lo this past weekend, and among other things — including a little Pattinson talk, swoon — they chatted about Lauren's hairstyle. "I've gone a little overkill with the braid," she admitted. "I cut my own bangs, so I have to braid it back a lot. I have weird Girl, Interrupted bangs going on." Not sure if they're weird, per se, but they're certainly trend-setting — and just another trick to add to the list of ways to grow out your bangs.

Don't you actually have to BE an icon to have an "iconic braid"? I would call Pippi Longstockings braids iconic. I would call Lauren Conrad's little braid a "thing she does for now until she gets tired of it".
1It is a really good way to get your bangs out of the way. I'm not growing mine out but sometimes they just don't behave or I don't have time to style them correctly (I have a cowlick so it takes some work), and the braid works perfectly.
2I have been growing my bangs outs so I braid them sometimes to keep them out of my face. I also braid my bangs back when I workout, keeps hair out of my face/eyes and a cute twist to a pony tail.

5I love her braids. half up-half down braids, pony braids, one braid. they're adorable! I have super long hair so I usually wear my hair in one big braid around the house to keep it outta my face but i've been experimenting with the smaller braids since seeing lc.

11Regardless of your thoughts on LC (I don't really get her "fame" either), the braid suits her, and am a fan if it myself. I trimmed my own bangs too, and sometimes you need to hide your at-home-makeover disasters.
12Can we just call it "signature braid" perhaps? Iconic is a term that needs to be earned, and should at least be deserved.
