I like my beauty sleep as much as the next girl, and I've certainly rushed to get ready or touched up my look at work. However, not only have I never flat-ironed my hair while in the car, it's never even occurred to me. Until now.
That's right, check out this aptly named TS-2 Nomad Mobile Flat Iron for your wandering lifestyle. Instead of a wall plug, it goes right into your car's cigarette lighter. It seems like an accident waiting to happen — but perhaps you can make friends with a carpool of strangers by popping it in as you chill on the 405... while in the passenger seat, I hope. Can you see a use for this product, (now on sale for $65)?

I'm having gruesome visions of this heating up on the dash board only to end up burning someone's lap with one strong hit on the brakes. Not safe!
Dangerous!
Yikes! People will try to use this while driving..... keep some aloe vera in your glove compartment!
Scaryyy!! You're going to be in that parking lot for a long time. Tsk tsk. (And I can just imagine some women flat ironing their hair during traffic.)
Terrible idea... Why the hell would u even attempt to use a straightener in our car? wow...
no wayyyy thats an car or burn accident just waiting to happen!
Well, my mom had a car when I was in college that had a regular 2 pronged outlet. I always said I was going to flat iron my hair with it, but never did. Recently, my mom and I were driving to a shower and I REALLY WANTED that outlet to finish my hair!
In other words--I would use this as a PASSENGER--NEVER as a driver. (but I also don't even text or do anything else while driving, so this would never even cross my mind.) Anyone who would use this is a driver is ridic.
I think it is fine as long as the person driving isn't using it. There could be an accident, but people know what could happen so if they choose to use it, why not?
If it's the driver using it, this is yet another distraction that could even cause car accidents. It's bad enough people actually text while driving. I say have less things in the car to distract and put your phone/blackberry/whatever else away. People have gotten killed because someone was distracted by something they shouldn't be doing while driving. Enough with the distractions already.
pretty dangerous
So now you can talk on your phone, operate your iPod AND flat iron your hair while driving= accident waiting to happen.
Using a flat iron is not nearly important enough for this kind of risk.
Great. So instead of seeing some a-hole holding up traffic because they can't seem to stop gabbing on about something that isn't really very important, but HAS to be said...now I can sit in traffic only to be mad at the girl who has to straighten her hair instead of drive. Or perhaps even both.
You deserve to crash into a tree if you use this in your car while you're driving. If you waited until getting into a parking lot, fine...but that'll never happen with the beauty queen teenager on the road, or the woman who is rushing to look good for her interview in 5 minutes.
i never drive so LOVE it !!
Disaster waiting to happen.
A jacka$$ buy another name is still a jacka$$. Who in their right mind comes up with more road hazards?
I love it! These days when everything from coffee to even meals on the go, having an iron on the go is so convenient! I'm a little worry that this may be a safety hazard though, in case anyone tries to do this while on the road. Keep the ironing strictly in the parked zone please! Other than that, I think it's brilliant!
I voted love it as long as you aren't driving.
I just had another though..when the power goes out you can go in your car and do your hair
Eek, the scary thing is, for a moment I thought "wow, what a great idea!" o_o
you can't use the phone anymore, but you can flat iron your hair???
that seems really dangerous!
so tacky, if you're too busy then don't flatten or wake up early to do it at home.
I need this! Just because you plug it in to your car doesn't necessarily mean "for use while driving." I can think of about a hundred occasions when my hair has gone pouf during a long day and I can't go home before I need to look nice again. This would be great for a quick all-over hair touch up... in the parking lot!!
accident waiting to happen could be nice if people would be smart enough not to try and use it while driving
I totally dig it! I mean once you get over that it's a terrible thing to do while driving. It's great for on the go gals. I mean think about having to go to a last minute outing,a local photo shoot which you have to rush to after work, or a last minute go see or audition; just plug in while parked before going in, do a quick fix and you're set to go.
