A few years ago, I interviewed Beth Ditto of Gossip, and she was as smart and opinionated then as she is now — except now, she's a darling of the fashion world. Her Beth Ditto for Evans plus-sized clothing line is now available in merry olde England, and she joined Sir Phillip Green and Kate Moss to celebrate its launch last night. Coming from the punk-rock scene, Beth is no stranger to trying out-of-the-ordinary looks (check out her dye jobs). This time around, she went for major makeup drama, no doubt knowing she'd make a statement. Do you love the risk or not?

not really a fan,but to each its own
I like it in a drag-queen sort of way.
Ohhh - not a good look at all. That's bad!
she's so weird...she looks like a clown/caricature and not like a real individual
the sharpie brows are classic! it's a bit too drag-queeny, but her eyes look 10 times bigger than usual!
i love it!
I think it looks awful. I think in general she looks awful. And it's not the weight, she just makes some really terrible makeup/hairstyle/wardrobe choices.
effing disgusting!
Is this a joke?!?!
Scary
Her makeup looks like Mimi's from the Drew Carey Show...not someone I would think anyone would strive to look like!
H.A.M
I like Beth and enjoy her different styles, but this look was a bit over-the-top, even for her. But tomorrow's another day and I'm sure she'll have another fun look goin' on then.
I like her too....she's certainly an "attention getter"! My only objection is her teeth...maybe she should have them whitened since she's photographed so often?
SERIOUS drag queen action.
She looks tragic.
LOVE IT!!! Why the heck not do something dramatic! You Go GIRL!!!
she looks almost animated...
She looks like Divine in Pink Flamingos.
My band played some shows with The Gossip. Beth told me she was going for the Divine look. (That's Divine the drag queen from John Waters movie, for those who don't know.) She's an entertainer, darnit! She doesn't want to look "normal." And aside from that, she's an extremely good-hearted person, as well as a kickass singer + performer.
she kind of looks ridiculous
This just does nothing for her. Beth's a pretty woman, but she looks so terrible here!
Okay. Let's break this down a bit. The eye makeup is fun in a very "make me look outrageous" sort of a way. The eyebrows, had they been done in a natural state without the crazy pencil job, could have improved the look tremendously. I agree about the teeth whitening thing. And the geisha wanna-be hairstyle doesn't help. Soften the hair and the brows, and it would have been a million times better.
It is well-done drag queen makeup. The only problem is Beth isn't a drag queen. Oops.
Reminds me of Divine in "Hairspray" and all those other John Waters movies....
Generic bimbos blend into the generic background. good bye to you all! - you lot are ten a penny. I am glad to see someone brave enough to dress they way they want to. - At least beth sings live, Good for you, you go - carry on, someone with a bit of substance
