It's a close call on whether or not you like your driver's license photo. Perhaps you blinked, didn't hear your cue, or could it be that a double chin just appeared out of nowhere? These mishaps can happen in any type of photo, not just the ones that prove you can legally operate heavy machinery.
To avoid the photo double chin, stand tall, hold your shoulders back, and stick your chin up just slightly. Better yet? Use this technique that my mom taught me.
Simply touch the tip of your tongue to the roof of your mouth and smile. This action helps muscles tighten around the neck area. That, and, it instantly makes you more aware of any inadvertent slouching. Say cheese — hold the extra chin.

It works! I stood in front of my bathroom mirror to try this out. Fabulous idea!
1I've been having this double chin issue in pictures even though i'm skinny lol!!! thanks for this tip!
2this actually makes my neck get bigger/lower. :/
3never have someone shoot you from below
4I have heard of this tip before! It does work and I've seen girls use it in pictures..but sometimes it can make your smile look a bit odd if you ask me. But hey, if your desperate to get rid of your double chin..why not??
5katie225, me too! it pushes the "floor" of my mouth down, i find it better to smile with your teeth open but your lips closed, then you can point your chin to stretch out the neck behind it.
6Great for wedding season! Thanks!
7That gus advise however if u are taking ur own pic the trick is tohold ur head straight..turn to the left or right tilting ur head down slightly...and snap. You wont look like a lollipop !
8I've noticed that if you actually put your chin down it helps getting rid of a double chin! You just have to not pull your head back, that's the key! Stand up straight, lean your neck forward slightly, and then angle your chin down a little bit, works like a charm!
9Great advice, thanks!
10I friend taught me the touching the tongue to the roof of my mouth trick about a year ago, and ever since then, everyone comments on how photogenic I am. It's truly a miracle worker.
11It feels awkward. I'll try it in the mirror, but I'm just happy I don't have a double chin!
12Doesn't seem to work for me. I'm pregnant so there isn't much I can do about it for the next few months.
13This is SUCH a great tip! My birthday was this weekend and I used it in all my pictures and was so happy with how I look in them! Thanks a million.
