OK, this one goes out to all of you who wax various parts of your body: how long does your skin stay smooth after a session? I ask because I get about three days of baby-butt skin before the body-hair gods descend upon me — and I'm not even hirsute in the first place. Sigh. Laser hair removal is looking better and better these days . . .

about 1.5-2 weeks at least (for my bikini)
Only a few days
booooo Is laser hair removal permanent?
Oh what a dream two weeks would be...or even one week.
almost two weeks
Hmm, I think I need to find a new waxer, then. I even said, "Is it normal for my hair to start growing back in within three or four days?" and she said it shouldn't.
Laser hair removal is permanent for the most part (I haven't done it) but I know some people do get some regrowth.
Mine usually lasts a couple of weeks at least.
Bella I recommend checking to see if there is "the urban wax studio" where you live. I can't rave about them enough.
I would love it if waxing lasted more than a week. At least I'm not alone.
Laser hair removal was some of the best money I ever spent! It is permanent, but you need to get it done by a doctor or medical spa that really knows what they are doing. There are specific times of the hair cycles that you need to hit and if you don't, then you get regrowth.
I tried laser and it lightened the hair, but did not get rid of it entirely. Six months or so later, it is pretty much back to what it was before. If you can have the treatments a couple of times a year to keep it up, it's a good method, but very expensive and for gals with lots of dark hair, like me, you still need to shave a little to be entirely smooth.
I don't get the hair cycle thing.
Electrolysis is the same, you have to hit the hair whilst it's growing. I'm not sure at which stage you need to laser but it might be the same.
Google histology and it might give you the answers.
Sigh a week if I'm lucky
i honestly think it depends on who is waxing you. i've had waxers who were not very good and it ripped the hair at the skin, not the root. i only had less than a week before regrowth, but other times- i lasted almost two weeks.
It depends on when I get my bikini waxed. If I let it grow in properly and keep waxing regularly, then I am smooth for about 2 weeks before I get growth. If I wax when I have different sizes of growth though, it may be less.
@romaniagrl - Your hair grows in cycles, constantly falling out and growing again. So what you see on the outside isn't all the hair in that area...just the hair that has been growing the longest. There are other follicles that have hair growing that might not be able to see yet... So if you get the area lasered 3 - 4 times based on this growth cycle, you will become hair free. If you only do it once, or don't pay attention to the growth cycles, you will have hair regrowth. Hope that makes more sense. : ) Also, most reputable places will allow you to come back for "touchups" if you find that there are a few spots with regrowth...
i find depending on the area, the regrowth can take up to 2 weeks. my mom has been waxing for a very long time and her underarm hair takes a long time to grow back 4 weeks or more. when the hair grows back, only some comes back...so she only needs touch-ups.
A day at the most. But I wax my eyebrows and they NEVER stay as nice as they are right after a wax. I must have the fastest growing eyebrows in the world so I usually reserve the wax for a special occasion, and try and comb them into shape the rest of the time.
mine too doesn't last more than 3-4 days...and i have been waxing for 10 years now...im think to switching too shaving
A few days. My hair grows really fast.
Hi, this is a very valid question that as a somatologist i get asked a lot. For a longer smoother period after your Wax
I see hair roots 2 days after Brazilian wax but only certain tiny bit of hair grow out (say 5% of the entire area), the rest is still very smooth. During summer time, sweating encourages faster hair growth. It's better during winter time.
I hate shaving, but I prefer it, because I can have silky smooth legs every day!
