What do Mariah Carey, Gwen Stefani and Jessica Simpson have in common—aside from their platinum albums? They're all entering the celebrity-fragrance business. Here's the scoop from Parlux, the beauty company she's working with:
The fragrance line will debut in July 2008, in the U.S., with an international roll-out shortly thereafter. The fragrance will reflect Ms. Simpson’s style, personality and confidence.
According to Ms. Simpson, “I wanted to partner with a company that would be able to express my personality through a fragrance. After meeting with Parlux, I’m extremely excited to start the development process with them.”
I'm curious to find out what Jessica comes up with. I bet it'll be very feminine, fruity and soft (and that somewhere, Ashlee Simpson is mulling her own fragrance, too). What do you think?

It will be interesting which avenue she takes. The whole dessert line she did was way girly so idk if shed make a more adult scent. My guess is yes.
1i'd be interested only if it smelled good. i don't care who endorses it. i heart britney but hate her perfumes, SJP's perfume smells like rubbing alcohol and flowers (ew), and prince's perfume smelled like an old lady's apartment (which makes this minneapolis native cry).
2i didn't like jessica simpson's dessert stuff but i love her shoes...let's hope the perfume smells flirty!
Didn't she already try the whole fragrance thing? I liked the idea (mainly the bubblegum and cotten candy fragrance idea) but she came up with some weird combinations. A lot of times when celebs come out with fragrances they are horrible (in my opinion). Although I do like some of J-Lo's and that Tommy fragrance that was by Beyonce, that smelled so good. And while I can't stand the girl, Britney came out with ONE that I liked. Never bought any of the mentioned fragrances before, but I'd most likely by Beyonce's and one of J-Lo's.
3Ughh.. enough already! Why does every celeb feel the need to put their name on a fragrance?
4i refuse to buy a celebrity perfume lol absolutely refuse. i'm just biased against them cause i agree with vogue92 above. why must they all do it?! (well cause its an easy way to make money of course but still!)
5Doesn't she have a fragrance? What the heck was that edible stuff?
6Her failed line of Dessert Beauty. I agree with those who show the disgust with celebs all needing a fragrance. As if there aren't enough fragrances out there, and it's so overdone that it's no longer an original idea. But I do like some. Most I admit smell like crap. The fragrances that I think are the most hilarious are the men's. Puh-lease.
I'm seriously tired of Jessica Simpson. She's got some cute shoes, but I hear they are not comfortable. Plus she was a trend to watch (Newelyweds), and now I think her time is over. I'm so tired of her. She is trying EVERYTHING and it's way annoying. What next, Jessica Simpson Happy Meals, but HEALTY instead.
NEXT!!!!!
7This time around, it's going to be a perfume, not the whole shebang she did with Dessert. I didn't like the Dessert line, because it was too sugary for me, and I don't like the idea of licking products off my body. Anyway, this new line will be more like Paris Hilton's fragrance (it's made by the same company!) in the sense that it's focusing on just one singular fragrance. And I have a feeling--just a hunch--that it will be marketed in a more upscale, grown-up way as opposed to the coquettish look of the Dessert line.
8The Dessert line was gross! I bet Jess can come out with a nice smelling perfume, her shoe line was great, I have to admit. I usually dont like celebs perfumes...except Britney's Fantasy one. For some reason, that one smells so good to me
9I think that the celeb perfume is just a great marketing campain. People buy stuff b/c of celebs all the time, so why not come up with a scent, slap someone's name on it and sell, sell, sell. As for me, if it smells good on me and my hubby likes it, I buy it - end of story. I don't care who's perfume it is or what it costs. $5 dollar body splash or $500 dollars.
10I liked the Desert line but only the body lotion stuff. The fragrances were no good. They smelled good at first spritz but they didn't stay on at all. I still have a whole bottle of "creamy" the vanilla/caramel one. I don't think I will be buying her new fragrance. And I'll never buy her shoes. Those suckers are U-G-L-Y!
11I've always been partial towards Jessica Simpson. I think she can put together a nice scent.
12ah typical celebrity fragrance # 45421348923
the only one i truly like was sarah jessica parkers' lovely
13Over it they all smell the same to me
14Aww, that's exciting!
15Ugh! Y'all are right- just one more opportunity for her to lend her name to yet another derivative beauty product. And those Paves hair extensions on HSN looked janky!
16It would be interesting to see the outcome of her perfume!
17I am so excited to see what her perfume looks like and smells like. I hope it is nice. I will buy it as long as it smells good and isn't too expensive!
18Here's to hoping that she's gone before 2008 so the fragrance never comes out.
19another celebrity fragrence
20i must admit tho i do love britneys!
21So Many fragrances that's good but, donations to homeless, education, and charities should occur much more from the stars.
22Even if I liked HER ... I probably won't buy it. I couldn't stand her Dessert line. =P
23Hopefully this fragrance sells better than her first attempt! Dessert anyone!
24excited!
25I make a point of not buying anything endorsed by a Celebutard--
26Why pay double the price for them to get the royalties??!!
I think that celeb endorsed scents are stupid, I don't care how good it may smell, I don't need to be giving any more money to them.
27I refuse to buy anything with Jessica Simpson's name on it. And her shoe line is just a rip off of legitimate designers' looks.
28i personally hated dessert..
29it gave me headaches whenever i smelt it on my friends
ok it was yummy, but too much of it got annoying
hopefully she makes something better
