This term from the realm of physical therapy refers to a form of deep-tissue massage intended to stretch and release bonds between connective tissues, thus giving healthier muscle alignment and greater range of motion. Lately, however, it's become popular in antiaging facial massages, since some people believe that stretching the fascia (the soft tissue that protects your muscles and organs) can help eliminate wrinkles and sagging in your face's underlying musculature, or at least relieve tension to minimize fine lines.

Normally babies don't do anything for me, but I gotta say... this picture is CUTE!
1that is the cutest pic i've ever seen. seriously.
2Ok, good, I'm not the only one who got all mushy over the sweet little baby face, lol!
3The picture is actually depicting Craniosacral therapy. It basically helps facilitate the movement of the skulls bones with the rhythm of the cerebrospinal fluid, using a very, very delicate touch. (far from a deep tissue massage.) Therapists like to treat newborns with this therapy, including C section babies (a sudden cut into the uterus causes the babies head to expand) and therefore Craniosacral therapy is very beneficial to them.
4My physical therapist uses both craniosacral and myofascial release for me(I have fibromyalgia). I thought it was kinda wacky the first time since there's very little to it, but it actually helps me quite a bit.
