Amy had her tattoo done on Memorial Day.
What made you decide to get the tattoo?
I wanted it to be something that meant something to me, and I really loved this story. I connected with the characters, how Bella loved Edward with so much passion and certainty that she would risk her life for him. I am a Christian and it reminded me a lot of God’s love for us.
What significance does the tattoo have for you?
Just the whole love story of it all, and how you have this ordinary girl being the object of these far-out-of-reach beings that love her unconditionally. They see the real beauty of her, not just her physical features, and I think that is something as women and girls of all ages want: To be loved for who we are, not what we look like or if we are a size 0 or a size 12.

4Ok, I love tattoos and I LOVE Twilight, but I feel bad for Amy b/c I think the drawing is pretty bad. Not to mention her moon looks like a bowling ball... Sorry sweetie. Kudos for trying!

It's actually incredible how much Stephanie Meyer has impacted girls/women with Twilight, even with so many OBvious typos.
I can't believe how much people can fall in love with a book that has such poor quality of writing. I mean, no one even heard the story of Emmett, Jasper, and she just ended the whole story. Really? I'm enormously disappointed in these books. I wouldn't waste my time,money and skin for these Twilight tattoos.

10They aren't very good stories that leave many questions unanswered and she writes about them very briefly. Twilight is just way too fake for me.
Stephanie Meyer seemed to be fantasizing her husband as a sparkling, stalking teenager who was actually really old. I see no meaning in these books, it's just another love story that doesn't really make sense except for the fact that they are in love and they are vampires.

12hey i love the books, quality of writing or not, she tells a good story. no need to insult people for enjoying it or connecting with it.
13There's also no need to get all worked up about the fact many find those very same books lame, poor writing. It's called personal taste and opinions, there's no need to be annoyed just because someone doesn't like the same things you do.
14Anyone in these comments talking about how "people like different things and you need respect that" is missing the point. The writing quality aside, these books actively promote codependent, self-destructive relationships based on jealousy, superficiality, and possessiveness. These books don't embody acceptance, trust, or love. They *do*, however, exploit the human desire to be accepted as flawless, encouraging no personal growth or understanding. It's all superficial pap.
These aren't messages that should be celebrated in any form, much less branding it on your body for all to see.
I have no problem with people reading/enjoying escapist fiction (as long as they recognize it as such). Nor do I mind folks being fans of things that I do not enjoy myself. I do, however, take issue with people insisting that their escapist fiction holds any deeper meaning or using it as a guide to model their lives (or the lives of their children and/or families) after.

16I got my Twilight tattoo on mothers day this year from my husband and kids...it was the best gift I could have ever gotten...they know how much i love the series so why not put it on you so you can take a piece of it with you where ever you go!

I hate when i hear ppl talk trash about how poorly these books are written, obv you have no clue do you!!? these books are writtten by the perspective of a 17 year old girl, kinda like a journal so its written perfect to how im sure when u was 17 would write in your very own journal or think i mean come on ppl dont be so stupid. 21ok, Twiehards... this is about the tattoos... and just walking up to someone with one of these tattoos inked on them, you wonder why they got them done. Just b/c someone doesn't like the meaning of the tattoo doesn't mean you get to attack us who dont see the point.
I just don't understand the facsination behind all this.. my man isn't supposed to "sparkle" ... only if glitter is used (on me) and rubs off on him.
22When I get a tattoo I get it because it has meaning for me, not you. I have never read or seen any of the twilight series so as far as the writing goes I don't know. From what I have heard it not my style. I like my horror to be just that horrific. Blood guts the gorier the better. But most people would look at my tattoo on my back as a weird a** skull that has no meaning. It says "the forsaken are metal" and it speaks volumes to me. It shows my love of world of warcraft but if you didnt play the game you would not know that is what it is from. It also shows my love of metal music. The harder the better. It looks awesome and 5, 10 years from not IF I am no longer playing world of warcraft I will be listening to metal and my tattoo will show that part of my life. As this tattoo will show her love of not only the twilight series but a part of her soul that it touched. I am not a Christian but I do believe that anyone who says that just because you are a Christian means that you cannot get a tattoo are very close minded Christians. It is all about your personal relationship with God not about what other superficial Christians think about how you express your beliefs.
