I'll never forget how mortified I was when, as a teenager, I wanted to go to Sephora but I couldn't figure out whether it was pronounced "SEFF-or-ah" or "seh-FORR-ah" or "sepp-orr-ah." I'd always say, "Let's go to the big makeup store" rather than call it by name. Finally I figured out how to say the name, and it was such a relief!
How well do you pronounce the names behind the makeup counter? Wager your best guesses now in this quiz, and dust off your high-school French—it'll come in handy. If there's a brand name you've been trying to figure out, leave a note in the comments and I'll address it when I post a pronunciation cheat sheet tomorrow. Ready to test your knowledge? 31I actually found it not natural to read those American pronounciation terms. Sha-nell : it's more a riddle to me than seeing Chanel.

32I wish I could make my aunt take this lol. She likes to pronounce Estée Lauder as "ess-tee."

35Pronounced perfectly!!!
36Does anyone know how to pronounce Shu Uemura?
37i'm so proud, i got a perfect score!!!! it really drives me up a wall when people pronounce certain designers incorrectly (burberry, for some reason, is like my pet peeve!), so I'm really glad i'm not guilty of it myself! although, i swear by stila makeup (i have for years now) and spend farrrr too much time in sephora/on their website, so if i pronounced those incorrectly, i would have to be very ashamed!
38Goood
I pronounced them perfectly & i'm on the right track
