If you're part of TeamSugar's Clinique Clique, you already know that Clinique has an easy-to-wear color collection along with its famed skin care line. If not, its fall colors are reason enough to get acquainted with Clinique's eye shadows, mascaras and lip colors.
The new items won't be in stores until August, but I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek at Clinique's new Play in the Darks collection. It's all about "blackened color," but not in a goth, I-hate-my-parents way. Instead, the hues are rich, saturated and smoldering. I think this collection will be a big hit because its colors are intense but not heavy, so they're wearable whether you're 17 or 71. And if you're a fan of Almost Lipstick in Black Honey, have I got some news for you. To find out what it is, and for a breakdown of the products used to get this makeup look, read more
One of Clinique's best-selling items is Almost Lipstick in Black Honey, a universally flattering deep rose that has a huge cult following. That's why I was so excited to find out about a new limited-edition shade called Black Plum. As a sister shade to Black Honey, it's perfect. It's just slightly darker, but because it's sheer, it isn't too much.
Another new product is Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss, a larger and more moisturizing version of Superbalm Tinted Lip Treatment. It comes in eight shiny shades, including a gorgeously glistening magenta called Raspberry that I have to try!
Finally, here are the products used in this photo, which I love:

Marc O'Polo
Ash
GUESS
interesting for clinique....
1i really like it. but i have really really dark brown eyes and semi fair skin.. idk if the eye makeup would work for me..does anyone have dark brown eyes and feel like they can get away with dark eye make-up?
2i looove this! black honey is great so i cant wait to try black plum
3Scb927, I think you could make it work for you, but you might want to explore slightly different color palettes. Anyone can pull off the smoky-eyed look, brown-eyed girls included!
4Wow, I can't wait for this collection. Do we know if it will be out early or late August?
5black honey reminds me of middle school....it was one of the first "expensive" makeup items my mom ever got me! i'll definitely have to check out black plum.
6I'm not sure about making up my face in all dark colors---maybe the eyes but dark (black) lipstick and blush and I'm already dark w/ dark brown eyes and black hair, i don't think so....If I'm outside in the dark night, nobody would know that I'm there.
7I like it. However, I have tried a sample of the High Definition Lashes Brush Then Comb Mascara in Black, and I didn't like it... It kept clumping my lashes.
8I love the colors! The ad is so beautiful and rich. I have to get one (or two) of the products, there to gorgeous not to try them.
9Bella - What is the Graphite cream liner like? I love love LOVE the Chocolate Lustre (brown with gold flecks) cream liner from the Pink Chocolates. Does Graphite have some sparkle? I feel a must-have coming on...
10i love black honey, and i've been using clinique since 5th grade. every woman in my family uses it, including my friends. i can't wait to try all of the new products when they come out! :]
11The glosses sound most exciting to me... Please say they have a slant-tip applicator and good pigment! The Full Potential gloss doesn't really do it for me.
12Bella, I too am a fair-skined dark-eyed girl who is DYING to pull of that smokey eye look. I will layer on what I think is dark eye makeyp, then see a photo and think it is closer to barely there than smokey. What is a dark eyed girl to do???
13black plum? can't wait...i love Black Honey!
14Wow, those eyelashes are amazing. When is the mascara due out? I can't wait to try it.
I'm a little nervous about the dark, smokey eye makeup though. I have really dark under eye circles and I'm afraid I will look like I have a black eye if I go dark on the top lids. What do you think?
Thanks.
15Loving it!
16maybe it's been a while since I wore black honey, but I don't remember it looking anything like what that model has on in the photo. does that seem weird to anyone else?
17Fun!
18I can't wait for this to come out!!! The eyeshadows look so pretty & I'm already hooked on the tinted superbalm...& the new ones are bigger!!!! YAY!!!
19i LOVE black honey, but i haven't bought it in so long... i will definitely have to remedy this.
also, i'm a dark brunette with dark eyes, and i LOVE wearing smoky eyes. in fact, i feel like a bald dog without eyeliner and mascara. i don't wear pure black often, but i play with plums, browns, and green/teals. i really like using a black pencil to outline my eyes, smudging it, and then layering a colored eyeshadow over top. i just make sure to wear a nude or light-colored shadow, and then i use a highlighter on my browbones and on the inside corners of my eyes.
therefore, this collection has me written all over it... as well as every other dark-haired girl!
20i'm so excited!
ps: askmetostay... it was my first "expensive", non drugstore item as well! love it!
21would love to get the mascara.. love the comb on the one side.. and wonder how well the brush on eyeliner works?? anyone?
22Love love love the look right there...cant wait!
23The brush-then-comb mascara has never worked for me the way it was intended. If you ignore the comb it's pretty decent, though. Her gloss looks like Glosswear for Lips in Tenderheart.
24loooooooooove it!
25I'm getting me some of that black plum.
26so excited for this collection!! can't wait to try it...wonder if we can pre order this?
27i love the black honey-can't wait to try the black plum!
28can i find this at cvs, or am i going to have to look in sephora? cause i just lost my eyeliner pencil (lancome kohl) and im super interested in that brush-on cream eyeliner, ive never heard of anything like it.
29Wow!!!!! Great collection!
30My PX already has this out and for sale.
Did I just get lucky? I picked up
Graphite yesterday. I'm wearing it today!
