If you ever find yourself in a beauty bind, here are some great new ways to make your beauty products multi-purpose! The first installment of this new BellaSugar feature is all about lip balm.
Lip balm is a great conditioning and softening emollient. It can double as cuticle oil to keep that rough and tough area soft, and it can also be used as an eye cream if necessary. (Just be sure to dab lightly and use sparingly around your eyes.)

Got any ideas or tricks on ways to make the most of your makeup? If so, leave a comment and let me in on some of your little beauty secrets!

You can also use it as eye gloss over your eye-shadow for a dirty girl look.
1I use it on my hands if they're looking too dry or sore.
2I know that a lot of the times a GWP (gift with purchase) has a lipstick that isn't quite right for you.
3.
Well, I learned this when a gwp lipstick was waaaay waaay to dark for my fair coloring.
.
Step 1
-Place equal portions of the lipstick and the vaseline on a ceramic plate (microwavable) (Note, if you have other colors that you might want to throw in to, to balance out...)
.
Step 2
-Nuke! (No more than 20 seconds to a minute, depends on the strength of your micro.)
.... note, you want it soft and blend-able, not LIQUID.
.
Step 3
-Mix and place in a clean, portable container (I normally re-use clean glass little portable jars {like the kind that come with cream for you eyes....})
.
Step 4
-Leave to setup for at least 1 day at room temperature.
.
Step 5
-USE
Instead of a brow gel, I use hair gel . Sometimes I use lipcolor as blush. Or baby oil as "once-a -week" deep conditioning hair treatment.
4nice tip Ejmcmis!!! My cup runith over with GWP colors that are waaaaay to dark or just plain awful!
5If ur lipstick is too bright or won't last, slick it on very heavily then kiss a piece of paper twice for a stain. Top with a light colored gloss or sheer light lipstick (Victoria Secret very sexy sheer lipstick in spontaneous) to lighten the color
6I am in the airport right now, sans my favorite hand lotion (which fell out of my purse at my sister-in-law's house), I already checked the store around the corner - no hand lotion there. I get dry hands easily and just washed them a lil bit ago. So, they say necessity is the mother of invention. This was a necessity -- just used my lip balm to sooth my dry fingertips! Whew.
7DCT blistex--amazing as lip balm, cuticle oil, a little shine on your eyelids, and on dry skin patches. its a lifesaver! and has a great tingly sensation when you put it on.
8moisturize dry elbows, particularly in the summer.
9I own Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in Merlot and Coffee, and I've found that it can sometimes work really well as a pop of color on the cheeks. You know, sometimes you just don't have enough time to dig for your makeup case or you may have left your blush or cheek stain at home.
It's a temporary quick fix, but it does work.
10And actually, Sue Devitt (if I'm not mistaken) really likes using tinted lip balms as cheek stains when she does a dewy natural look so much that she made her own cheek balm.
i misx foundation with moisterizer..it goes on nicer and makes the foundation last longer.
11If you shave your legs, make sure you do it at the end of your shower, after using a loofah. This makes scuffs away the dead skin from your legs and softens the hair, giving a cleaner shave.
12I realize that it's not a "beauty" tip, but what the hey. It's useful.
13Lip balm (like Rosebud's Salve - my fav!) or hand lotion can also be used to tame flyways when you don't have any other product in your bag.
14Aloe vera gel, can be used as a shaving gel for when you shave your legs, or an after moisturizer, or to soothe sunburned skin, or to moisturize oily facial skin, or like a gel for the hair. Whew!
15- To get the last bit of shampoo/conditioner/lotion/ etc. out of the bottle, flip it upside down and put it in the microwave for a FEW seconds.
- Apply your body scrub to DRY skin rubbing it in circular motions, THEN hop in the shower and rinse off. Don't forget to moisturize while skin is still damp to lock in moisture!
16I use the strawberry Rosebud salve all over - on nude eyelids for a nice sheen, on my cheeks for a little colour and dew, on my lips (obviously), and on my elbows and hands. It's amazing!
17Somtimes if I in a rush... I use my lightly tinted lip stain for some cheek color. and I have used my cream blush as a highlight under my brows.
And Lanuchan... I'm addicted to DCT.... I use for everything!!
18Clear or brown mascara as a brow tamer
19Brown or nude lip liner as a brow pencil
Clear nail varnish on tights that have a hole (apply to the hole only) will prevent them from laddering
wow! what great tips! I have Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream, and I use it all over! Eyeshadow, lipgloss, and cheekcolor in a pinch! I love it!
20I went skiing last year and realized I forgot my sunscreen as soon as we hit the slopes. I put chapstick with SPF 15 on my face, and at the end of the day my face didn't have a patch of sunburn and my skin was amazingly soft!
