Fabrice Gilli, my amazing hairdresser and Creative Director of Frederic Fekkai Soho, has divulged one of his quick and easy, at-home recipes for beautiful beach waves. Since you already know how to create this look yourself, and you're aware of the various beach hair products on the market, thanks to Fabrice, you can save a few pennies and stock up on sunscreens instead! Here's an inexpensive way to attain sexy beach waves on a miniscule budget.

- Step 1: Take an empty and clean spray bottle and fill it up with eight ounces of water.
- Step 2: Add two heaping tablespoons of kosher or sea salt to the water and shake.
- Step 3: Mix a teaspoon of your favorite hair gel to the saltwater solution and shake it once again. This will give hair a little bit more texture.
- Step 4: Spray a liberal amount onto wet or very damp hair and do not brush through—finger-comb only if necessary. Scrunch hair in your hands to help curls form, or just leave it be and let it air dry naturally.

1I'm trying this over the weekend! Yay!!!
2Great tip, I'm always whipping up my own concoctions to put in my hair like this. I even make one to bring to the beach to keep hair looking fabulous.
3thank u bella!!!
4Love it! No need to buy those expensive beach-hair sprays or go to the beach when you don't have the time... just make your own salt water! I LOOOVE the beach hair look.
5I'm gonna try this!!!
6I'm definitely going to try this too, thanks!
7I'm trying this too!! Thanks!!!!!!!
8Thanks Bella! I'm going to try this...and its great because I have kosher salt!
9Great idea!
10I LOVE beach hair. The salt water help dry the frizz out of my hair. But his makes me wonder, is it bad to be frequently adding salt water to your hair like this? Would it suck all the moisture out and damage your hair over time?
11Yess!!! I'm so trying this. I moved to the east coast for college after growing up in San Diego - and my hair has been ugly and frizzy ever since. Maybe the beach spray will help bring some of the old cuteness back.
12great idea!
13i think if you don't overuse it and wash ur hair, it'll be fine. i used to use the garnier surf spray but i think this will work just as well and cost pennies, not $3.00.
14Thank you Bella! What a great idea =]
15I thought we were supposed to rinse the salt water out of our hair after a swim? Wouldn't that salt dry the crud out of your hair?
16i might try this, even though i'm moving to a beach! well, i guess if i don't have time to actually get to the beach, i can still look like i did. i love trying these things anyway though. fun!
17My hair has a lot of texture but this is definitely something I think my straight haired friends should try.
