Last week I asked you to suggest your favorite cleansing shampoos, and you definitely found some good ones!
Marcella loves Lush's Big shampoo: "It's by far the best cleansing shampoo for people who use a ton of styling products (like me)!" I agree—this stuff lathers like crazy, smells amazing and leaves hair looking shiny and bouncy.
Then there's Rachelattack, who suggests using good old-fashioned baking soda! She says that adding a bit to a regular shampoo transforms it into a cleansing shampoo. I might have to try this.
Leeluvfashion and Bigestivediscuit both rave about Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo, which takes me back to junior high. Come to think of it, my hair did look good and shiny back then—aside from the (gulp) spiral perm.

I love baking soda in my shampoo to clarify! Pair that with a diluted apple cider vinegar rinse (a couple tablespoons to 12 oz. water, don't worry, the vinegar smell completely goes away) and voila! Clarified and clean.

2are u sure it's safe to use baking soda with the shampoo? will it not take away the natural oil that the hair produce?
3I'm going to have to try the baking soda and apple cider vinegar. My hair gets build up sooo bad and sooo quick -- it gets pricey trying something new every time I turn around. Maybe this will be the tried and true method I've been looking for! Thanks!

5I used a shampoo w/ tea tree oil as deep cleansing shampoo and I swear by its results---awesome

9Baking soda is also great for cleaning your white Keds. Just make a paste of baking soda and water and rub on with a paper towel or wash cloth.

11Haha Bella, Neutrogena also takes me back to junior high days, although I still like some of their healthy skin range for cheap and quick fixes. I will HAVE to try baking soda - it seems to solve EVERYTHING from smelly flats/sneakers to hair to cleaning your Keds!!! Fantastic! Though I am going by Lush tomorrow, so I will have to check out their Big shampoo. I'm not that impressed with Patene, as it always seems to LEAVE buildup ... not so great!

14i haven't tried the Lush shampoo, but i've tried some of their other products and loved them...i'll have to check this out! the only problem with lush is it's so hard to find..i wonder if you can by the shampoo online? i'll have to check.
15I have been using the baking soda in the shampoo trick forever. I don't do it every day, though.....maybe once a week or every two weeks. It works really well, but I don't have color treated hair so I'm not sure about that.
