We first heard buzz about the Jennifer Hudson fragrance, Imari Seduction, back in March and now it's almost here! Jennifer was asked by Avon to be the spokesperson for this new scent soon after her Oscar win for Dreamgirls.
As harsh as this may sound, I guess her 15 minutes of fame is lasting a lot longer than predicted. This girl's got star quality written all over her. Seems to me like she's gone from 0 to 60 in no time!

I haven't sampled the fragrance yet, but from what I gather, it's a hearty mix of flowers and woods with a little touch of sweetness in the top notes. It has notes of crimson rose, purple orchid, patchouli, wild berries, plum, sandalwood, amber, musk and vanilla bean. Get excited, the launch is set for August—only a couple of days away. Imari Seduction will be available in a 1.7 oz bottle for $22.50.

Her 15 minutes are almost up, it's not like she's doing a Lancome or M.A.C ad.
1Most Avon fragrances smell cheap and nasy. There are very few that I like, and this ain't one of them.
2avon is not cheap and nasty a company that has beena round for 100 years is doing something right. This one is very very stong but is nice.
3Kudos to her. I kind of take offense that anyone would deem an Oscar winner to have only "15 minutes" of fame. What does it take to get more? An arrest? Give the girl her deserved props.
4Miss Matilda is right. Everyone is entitled to their opinion on Avon, however, mwmsjuly19 was referring to Avon fragrances. I don't know if that meant Avon in general, but it was the fragrances.
The perfumes I've seen Avon produce within the last decade have all smelled nice, imho, but to each their own.
5I love Avon perfumes, but they all seem to fade down to the same scents, because the base notes are so similar.
6I'm not a fan of the original Imari...to me it just smells a little old-lady-ish. I'm interested to see if this one's any better.
7I love Avon.
8fashionstar..15 minutes?? the woman is getting scripts left and right. also recording album. she's already one of the greatest voices of our generation. 15 minutes?? yeah ok.
9My mom sells Avon and my grandmother sold it for many years. I love Avon products but am more partial to Avon's "MARK" scents such as Lemon Sugar. The products are definitely getting better with time, as is evidenced by endorsements by many fashion and beauty magazines such as Allure, Glamour and Lucky. It is not your grandmother's company anymore. Just because the products are less expensive than others doesn't mean they're not as good. Give it a try!
10I really don't like Jennifer Hudson, I think she's way too much of a Diva. She usually looks really pretty though, including this picture.
11"One of the best voices of our generation"
12Hah...As if!
No talent. I hate to say it but she got her Oscar for simply being herself and giving a little 'blackittude.' I was relatively unimpressed with her performance in dreamgirls. I don't like Beyonce much either but thought she was better. And, the other actress (don't know her name) got next to no attention or praise at all for her role. She must've felt invisible during the whole thing and the aftermath and the ridiculous oscar for jhud.
13I agree, jhud is a decent singer, she has a big loud voice anyway, but an actress, she is not.
Don't like the original imari, but this one was nice and sexy. I smelled it in a magazine. You can't beat the price for the notes in the mix.
