Ever buy a new powder blush and almost immediately drop it on the ground... and watch it fall apart into a million little pieces in the container? If so, don't despair! Here's a fast fix to help you salvage part of your brand-new purchase.

Take a small jar (about the size of a lip gloss container) and mix whatever powder is salvageable with a little bit of good ol' Vaseline (petroleum jelly). This will turn your blush into a lip gloss or a high-shine cream shadow. I'm not saying that it will look exactly the same, but it's a great way to turn lemons into lemonade!

great tip btw!
Great tip! Thanks Bella!
Ha, I like the jewel-decorated jar too
Who knew Vaseline could be so pretty?
thanks for the tip and i love the bejeweled jar and you know that stuff lasts forever too!
Nice tip! I use vaseline every night to take off my eyemakeup, but it seems like I have had the same jar for a couple years, it does last forever!
i remember that vaseline bottle thats bedazzled in rhinestones haha, it was on Tyra Banks' show, she gave it away to the audience , and they all went nuts
I love that vaseline jar!!! Great tip...
i use vaseline on my lips every night. its great stuff
That's a great idea!
Great idea!
You know what else you can do when that happens; break it all up pour a little rubbing alcohol in it and leave it by the window, when it evaporates it will be one piece again.
ooo! and the bejeweled vaseline jar is GREAT! is that seriously available somewhere for purchase? lol
that is brilliant.
That's a nice tip. Thanks!
great tip, great jar
Andi, that is the neatest trick I have ever heard!! Does it make the consistency of the blush different?
Andi, that is the neatest trick I have ever heard!! Does it make the consistency of the blush different?
cream shadows are a nightmare...but I will definitely have to try the gloss!
You can also do a passable repair job by adding a tiny bit of rubbing alcohol to the powder, patting it into place, and leaving it open to evaporate overnight. I did that when I dropped and broke my brand-new Stila Kitten pan - worked pretty well, and applies just the same.
Oops. AndiO beat me to it. Still, good tips all around!
Love the Vaseline jar!!!
what a fantastic tip!!
Luv the Vaseline jar!!!
Awesome tip, even awesomer jar! Lovin' the rhinestones! Fab!
Great tip!!
love the vaseline jar!
You could actually just take all the pieces and add some isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol to them, and wait for it to dry. Then your blush will be in one piece. You can also depot eye shadows this way.
i never heard that abt the alcohol! good to know! will that work for bronzer also?
What a great tip!
Interesting idea. I just don't like the way Vaseline feels on my skin though.
Love the jar! That's a great tip!
Now THAT is a great little pearl of wisdom
I'm such a clutz, so this is definitely a
tip I can (and will) be putting to use Thanks Bella!
Bella what about if it's black eyeshadow that you dropped?? I recently broke my into a million pieces and use it for eye liner. Any ideas?
careful!!! many blushes are not formulated to be consumed!
I would higly suggest not doing this unless you know your blush is safe. Since it is made to be on face and not lips they put things in it that they dont put in lipstick.
great tips!-i hate it when that happens!i have an eyeshadow this happened to.
Another tip: If its a newish blush and you bought it from a department store makeup counter, you can *almost* always return it. They are always really good about replacing items that have been damaged.
i love this! thanks!
When I saw the Vaseline I immediately thought TYRA
Wow thanks for the tips I’m clumsy when it comes to makeup LOL
You can also completely pulverize the broken blush and turn it into a loose powder blush.
this is a great tips for broken makeup...for me it's similar to my broken semi-powder that had fallen to the floor accidentally ...
i mix it up with clear lip gloss or lip balm to be nude shade lip gloss & it's great! don't have to buy new nude lip gloss ^^
hm. blush mixed with vaseline on your lips or eyes. TOTALLY NASTY!!!
I'm totally too thrifty and much older. I turn all my bits into powder and apply as usual. If you don't like vaseline use other potted clear glosses; works just as well. Eyeshadows do the same, mix them up you can come up with some great colors.
Love the disco jar - but the 80's were a fab time for me.
cute jar
I just love these ideas!!
