Welcome to part four of The Best Blusher For Your Skin Tone. In this installment, we are exploring blush for olive-colored skin. You lucky girls are the ones with the gorgeous and natural golden glow all year round! For this type of skin, petal pinks and deep peachy apricots give you a subtle warmth. Here are a few of my suggestions—and by all means, please leave comments and share your own favorites with everyone!
Pantina Cheek Sweeps ($5.50) aren't out yet, but you can expect to see these shimmery and mess-free blushers this fall in two shades: Tru Bliss and Radiance.
For olive skin tones, I'd go with Tru Bliss. It's a bright pink/coral hue that glides on easily and blends flawlessly into the skin, leaving a slight iridescent trail and a gorgeous flush to your cheeks.

Benefit Sheer Cream Blusher in Hush ($18) is an ultra-smooth, creamy, bright yet sheer pinky-apricot color suitable for olive skin.
With just a little bit applied right to the apples of your cheeks, you can create a very warm effect. With a touch more, you can really give your face some pizzazz! Blend upwards and outwards (towards your hairline) using your fingertips.
DuWop Blushbooster in Mango ($22) is a powder blush with a little bit of shimmer for a natural and radiant glow. You can either wear it alone or on top of another blush for a highlighting effect. It is available in four shades, but Mango (pictured) is a shimmery apricot which would look fantastic on olive skin tones.

My olive skin confuses me. I'm fair but with olive skin but most magazines and stuff alway catagorize olive pretty dark. What's the deal?
I use Benefit Georgia for a little pick-me-up since my cheeks are already a bit red.
1CocoChic, I don't think you're olive skinned. If you're fair, you'll never be olive-skinned. Olive skinned are with warm brown tones or either warm yellow tones. If you look at my picture, you can see me that I'm olive. Make-up meant for dark -skinned people like the Africans-Americans don't match my skin. I'm not fair but I'm not dark. I'm olive-skinned.

5Is Pantina a good brand for Latinas? Just by the name it sounds like it. I mean African American women have their cosmetics brands and Caucasions have their... well every other brand!! So hopefully it is because us Latin girls have unique skin tones (yellow, golden, and olive) so we too deserve our own brand. Mostly, since most cosmetics companies out there have failed to include olive for their foundations and powder (its always either orangey or pinkish). I especially have a hard time finding a good foundation and powder because my skin tone is so different (I'm half mexican and half white) so I'm not real tan, but I still have olive tones. How fun to always be on a quest for the right color! Oh yah and not to mention the oilyness I inherited (yep I'm a greasy 1/2 mexican lol). So face makeup is a difficult thing for me, it would be sooo nice to make it just a little easier!!!

8Yeah, where can you get Pantina? Also, I have olive skin and I love Tarte brand cheek stains... they have different berry colors than are really sheer but look great on my skin tone. I would never think of putting a peach color on... I'm afraid it would look too obvious... not natural enough.
9I read somewhere a long time ago that cream blush gives you a more youthful glow. I guess its a dewy finish. Anyway, I would love to try this if I can find it.
10CocoChic: I totally know what you mean. I have olive skin and get pretty dark in the summer, but that fades and I'm fair looking by winter. You can have olive skin and still be fair. I think that fair skin is just assumed to not be olive because most fair skin has pinkish undertones, as opposed to olive or yellow (as horrible as that descriptions sounds). I would match your products to olive tones, as opposed to pink/fair tones, just make sur eyou don't get anything too dark for your particular shade.

14well when i saw the yellow undertoned blush article, i thought okay this is me, because in the winter when i have no tan im still pretty medium skinned but sometimes my face looks, well, yellow. but then i looked at the olive skin article and i was so confused because thats what i always thought i was. can anyone help me??
15Vienvien, I am pale and have a yellow/olive undertone. In no way are olive tones only in darker skin. I tan very easily, never burn, and look awful in anything cool toned.

18I had the same problem and just recently went to a shop and they analyzed my skin, I was already aware I had combination skin but apparently my skin tone is a combination as well, comprised of 4 different shades I have to apply quite a few different shades and types of foundations to look ‘natural’ I sometimes wake up and don’t even bother anymore and blush lol, .. That’s something I don’t think I still quite understand
19It would be nice if there were 'swatches' of skin color to help us determine the difference between medium, yellow, and olive. Sometimes those things are a judgment call but swatches could help us determine which colors go with which skin shades.

21im olive skinned & really like nars blush in orgasm, too. (a cheaper & more shimmery version is mark blush in after glo). i sometimes contour with loreal tru match in w3-4.
22han2, most people with asian skin are considered olive, but alot of asians from the far east (i.e. china, Philippines, Japan…) are actually fair!!

I always thought I was tan but I'm more on the olive side because my skin has yellowish tones. I like to call them golden but more on the yellow side. Nars Orgasm is great but it's kind of too light by itself. I like to layer it with MAC's Fancy Ray (great for olives) which is a cream blush and then Orgasm on top. MAC's Style is a nice peach for olive toned girlies like myself.
