Like many of you, I am a faithful watcher of America's Next Top Model. Even if it hasn't produced any actual supermodels—as Bravo's upcoming model search is trying to do—it's an entertaining show. Now, some of the "advice" Tyra gives makes me roll my eyes, mostly because it's made more dramatic for TV. But one thing Tyra is right about is the importance of looking simple and makeup-free on go-sees.

Remember Natasha—er, "Nata"—from last season? She has signed with Muse, an agency in New York, and her first photographs are coming out. Compare the simple look she's sporting in the Polaroid with the glammed-up "after" makeover shot from ANTM (which, frankly, is too DeBarge for my taste). I think she looks fresher in the T-shirt shot—more "working model" than "aspiring model."
Now, Natasha is probably wearing some makeup in these new Polaroids, but the reason she looks good is that the makeup and hair isn't over the top. To find out how to get this clean, fresh, "no-makeup" model look, read more
- Hair: Tyra is right: To look like a model, wear your hair in a simple ponytail, or let it swing naturally. One thing I like about Natasha's new hair color is that it looks natural, but she has a few subtle highlights woven in near her face. This softens the look.
- Skin: If you look closely, you'll see that Natasha's freckles show through, but you don't see any undereye circles. She's probably wearing concealer and a tinted moisturizer. Get the look by dabbing—not smearing—concealer over dark circles and any blemishes, then using a tinted moisturizer like Stila illuminating tinted moisturizer spf 15 to even out skin tone. Or, to save money, just add a few drops of foundation to your everyday facial moisturizer. Either way, your skin shouldn't be hidden.
- Eyes: A coat or two of black mascara is all you need. If you're a blonde or a redhead, use brownish black mascara for a more subtle look.
- Eyebrows: Modern brows are full but groomed. It looks as though Natasha probably has done some very subtle "filling in" of her brows. You can get the same look at home easily with a brow gel, such as Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel.
- Lips: Barely-there color is the name of the game. Look for a lip balm with a light and sheer color tint, such as Tarte 24/7 Lip Sheer.
So what do you think? Will we see Nata on the runways? I think she's very pretty and she's got a great personality, but the reality-TV curse is going to be hard to beat.

ooh fresh look! gotta try this
1I loved Natasha! She was so cute on the show.
2and I agree - simple looks way better than over-done.
Love that polaroid shot of her! Beautiful.
3The look on the left is just bad. All that make-up....ew, makes me cringe.
4She's gorgeous, but she's still only 5'9". Isn't that a little short for a model?
5great natural look
6Great tips, my hair is ALMOST long enough to put in a causual pony-tail without looking like a "nubbin".... I think she is gorge. but I have to disagree about her hair color looking natural, I think it looks very fake this dark.
7This is great ---natural look. However , I can't pull off a natural look . For me , it's either make-up colors that work to enhance my skin tone or no make-up at all except lip-balm.
8ANTM always screws over its girls by giving them some seriously ridiculous makeovers. It's the over-the-topness that keeps me watching though.
Natasha was a gorgeous model with some crazy full lips. The dye job they gave her on the show was too harsh for her coloring. Better than fried hay for hair, but still not as good as it could be. Natural Natasha looks way better in that 2nd photo.
9She should of won. I think she has a natural and distinctive look--great for editorial and commercial!
10i don't her hair..i never did on the show.
11I like the pic on the left. I guess I'm more or a makeup girl
.
12i think she is a gorgeous woman, but that she could never be a model. she just isn't cutting it for me.
135'9 is not short for a runway model. Runway petite is 5'7 and yes, two inches makes a difference.
Anyway I agree. I'm still trying to perfect my go-see look, but I think I've got it down.
Also, modeling is about mass appeal and clothes hanging at times, people. Keep that in mind.
14I love the look. Very simple, clean and natural looking.
15I agree about the ponytail comment. I love ANTM and I also love Petra's new show A Model's Life and I think when the girls have their hair up in ponytails is when they look most "model-y"
16FYI: Tarte lipsheers are NOT sheer. They're really creamy and opaque like lipsticks. I wish Nata would have won; the other girl has a scary face.
17Nice tips, thanks.
18Most models have to be at least 5'7"—preferably 5'9" or higher, though. Gisele is 5"11, but Iekeliene Stange is 5'9". Occasionally you'll get a Devon Aoki (5'5", if memory serves) or a Kate Moss (5'7", I think) who's a little shorter. Either way, Natasha is tall enough for the modeling world. Now, Eva Pigford... probably not. Not tall enough for runway, that is. But I don't think ANTM models are being groomed for runway—they're being groomed to become spokesmodels, which is where they'd make more money anyway.
19Ooh love it. I love Natasha, and was so disappointed she didn't win but I'm glad to see her at least with an agency.
20I love that look of freshness, but my eyelids are dark and if I don't use some shadow, I look dead!
And I agree the simple straight ponytail is the best way to go - get the hair out of your face, especially if you have great bone structure.
21Wow...I usually didn't think she was that hot on the show (I think the blonde straw-for-hair she started off with was a turn-off) but she looks amazing her.
22*here, not her
23she can never be a model. hated her on the show
24I'm absolutely in ove with Natasha and I'm sure she'll make it far
25How Ironic I'm watching ANTM now on mtv!!! They just got done with make overs and now they are moving on the make up!!
26Oh wow - so much better than ANTM! I always think that after the makeovers all of the girls look like they are in drag because they have so much makeup on and dramatic hair! It's just too much - I think on an upcoming season they should do "natural" makeovers instead like Natasha's angency did for her - so pretty!
27i agreed with most of the ANTM winners except for when nicole and jaselene won. i still say natasha shoulda won but its great shes with muse now. my fav Antm alum will always be Naima though
28antm winner**
29The first photo is terrible. The make-up is way too harsh for her face. She looks grogeous and understated in the second photo.
30she doesnt look russian in the left photo :\
i like her right photo. tried out the au naturel look today. i feel really good since i am quite new to make up. it is not too heavy but it gives me a very fresh look. me like
31Bella, what does a tinted moisturizer really do? Would you recommend using it if I'm 17? I don't want to ruin my skin or anything.. Is it like using a foundation? I know you posted about them before and I want to try this Stila one but I'm unsure!
32Hey AK, I'd use a tinted moisturizer if I were you. At 17, you don't need to wear a lot of foundation — it's actually more age-appropriate to wear a tinted moisturizer. I like the Stila one a lot (and use it). Whichever one you go with, make sure it has a SPF of at least 15.
Tinted moisturizers are great because they protect your skin from sun (with SPF), they keep your skin hydrated and they even out your skin tone. The look isn't as heavy as foundation, but it's enough to give a smoother, more even skin tone.
33Thanks Bella! I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with the Stila one then. Thanks for helping me out and replying to my other post as well!
34EEEwwww she looked so much better before.
35She looks beautiful in the Polaroid.
36Hey Bella, I have one more question. Do I need a brush to apply this? Or can you just blend it with your fingers?
37You can tell that she has inherent beauty, and that all the special makeup they apply on her jobs will only enhance it.
Aveda also carries some excellent sheer lip tints, but since they have natural ingredients, they don't make my gastric issues act up. A neat alternative for gals with similar gastric issues.
38cute
39i wish she would have never been on antm. she is beautiful and i would have loved her photos if i didn't know she had such an off-putting know-it-all personality. now i look at her and it bothers me.
40Beautiful model, natural picture is gorgeous, do not like her personality though.
41She was incredibly arrogant on the show. Very unappealing. Amazing how she looks much better without makeup on though!
