I'm guessing that Jessica Simpson is having a rough week, considering the reports that her new movie, Blonde Ambition, is heading straight to DVD. At least she still has clear skin, right? Can you guess how she went from a blemished to peaches 'n' cream complexion?

She is such a loser--resorting to hawking pimple products1
1wait a second she's selling proactive but she used accutane...i'm confused.
2Bad move on her part to hawk the wrong miracle cure. Her acting dubm and this type of switcharoo is really damaging her credibility. She needs to grow up.
3wait- you forgot 'airbrushing'. she used accutane before Proactive-horrible.
4That is the worst product I ever used, it had me smelling like sulphur and I followed precisely what the sales rep told me to do with it.
Tried to take it back to the kiosk where I bought it from, the girl tells me the moisturizer is too dark (the first girl was the one to say it was right), I used too much and so on.
I'd never ever use it again.
As for Jess, well she's not exactly known for being rocket scientist smart so, why are we all surprised that she would be all over the place promoting the "miracle cures" for acne.
5I thought it was Proactive? I've seen her dumb commerical a million times.
6well maybe ALL the side affects with acutane went more so to her brain....or the space matter inside the skull cavity
7this is the easiest question ever.
8Yeah... A lot of the celebs don't actually use ProActiv to the extent they say when they endorse it. They get paid very nicely to endorse it.
Pro Activ works for some people. For others, it actually causes bigger problems. That's what it did to me. I tried for 3 month, and my acne got progressively worse.
9I freaking hated Pro Activ - dried me out sooooo badly!
10Ooops I suck, but apparently I'm not the only one!
11She lied to us all! I knew proactive didnt clear up her craters!
12I used Proactive back in high school and it made my skin worse. Then I used Accutanea few months later in college and it made a huge difference. I get the occasional pimple, but it completely cleared my skin and it's been 4 years since I used it. It's the strongest thing out there and I know there's side effects like depression but it made me much happier because it cleared my skin.
13ProActiv worked fine for me, but I only started using it because I got a year's supply when I won a teen beauty pageant. I didn't really have serious skin issues anyway.
14If you have acne then Accutane is the way to go. I used it while in high school and have never looked back! I can still have small break outs, but nothing like before.
15why does bad skin even have to exist?
16Accutane is very effective for major acne, but most derms won't prescribe it unless you've already tried other medicines such as Retin-A, Differin, Tetracycline, and so on. It can cause birth defects, so it's serious stuff.
I tried Proactiv in college, and while it did get rid of my zits, it also dried out my skin. It seems like everything has its advantages and disadvantages.
17And Girlboy, I don't know! I am fascinated by acne on a nerdy level. Why do we have it? Wouldn't it make more sense, evolution-wise, for us to have clearer skin? I keep trying to figure out what the biological imperative of acne is, but so far I gots nothin'.
18I used Accutane in high school too. It worked... for like a second. I had clear skin for a year, now I have terrible skin and can't use most of the products out there because the Accutane permanently shrinks your oil glands. So now everything i try leaves my skin dry and flaky. Now I am on Doxyciclin and after just 2 days my skin is improving like crazy. The problem is, i can't use it forever.
19i forgot to mention that I have also tried proactive and it didn't work at all. My favorite thing now is Dr Brandt's poreless products... they are VERY gentle, calming and moisturizing. But in the lat few months even that couldn't stop my breakouts... so that's why i ended up back at the derm.
20i knew it too.. i like her .. but ahhh common now dont lie to the whole world and make a million teenage girls think.. if i use this it will really work! cuz its soo much money and it doesn sh*t for your face! my sister used it for like 2 years.. and nothing worked! her face got a tiny bit better.. but it was NOT worth the money!
21I'm guessing enough $$ for regular facials, a pro makeup artist and airbrushing.
22I hate proactiv! It made my skin burn and I broke out worse. When I called to cancel the sales rep was so rude and told me that if i stop using proactiv i would always have acne on my face! I am pregnant right now, but if my skin doesn't clear up after having my baby then I would like to try accutane. Jessica's skin is so perfect now and not just in the airbrushed photos.
23Yeah this question was easy, Pro Active is not a miracle worker especially if you have skin that was as bad as Jessica's. I knew she did Accutane and that's why her skin is so clear and radiant. Pro Active does not do all of that.
24When Newlyweds first started, she was asked on the red carpet what her beauty secrets were. She clearly said that Accutane cleared her acne. Now, we've all used more than one product but don't lie and act like this is the only thing you've used.
25A lot of celebrity -product endorsers don't actually use the products they endorse. I'm not surprised . But still some of them actually use the products they endorse. I know some of the people here say that Pro-Activ isn't effective but my hubby used it and it actually diminished his pimples
26I used Proactiv for a few months and then it stopped working, and I also couldn't afford to buy it anymore anyway. I started using a cheaper version that you can buy in stores, AcneFree and it works much better. Cheaper and I can get it in the store. May not work for everyone but it works for me.
27Proactiv helped out my skin a lot, but I still get a lot of zits on my chin
28Opps, I got the wrong answer.
29I love JS however LIAR!lol. She used a medication to get rid of the acne, not Proactiv. I used Proactiv and yes it did help alittle however now I'm using Cetaphil cleanser and then at night I apply Benzeclin. I just started that and I already see a difference. Proactiv is a basic system, for tough acne you need a stronger medication.
30What a LIAR!! Uh that makes me so mad... DANG! Now I have a B*tch face. Just from that... thanx Jessica, I only know now that I already ordered Proactiv!!!
31No surprise there - no of the celebs that endorse Pro-active actually use it! Its all about the $$$, just a business deal. They have derms , facialists and doctors that will go to any lengths to fix their skin because they are rich.
32woo hoo!
33Don't know why I knew that, but I got it right, lol.
34Figures. My derm wanted to put me on Accutane in HS, but due to the side affects, my mom didn't want me to use it. Luckily, I'm now in my mid-20's and I FINALLY have clear skin except for the occasional chin zit. I'm still shiny all the time, but I guess that's what oil blotting papers and powder is for.
35For the record, ProActiv works, too. Sometimes too well: I gave it to my boyfriend of 5 years who was having skin problems, and it cleared his skin and boosted his confidence so much that he cheated on me and we broke up. Darn ProActiv! haha
36LeeLuvFashion---
Benzaclin is the BEST isn't it? I was on the road to Accutane myself, but Benzaclin seems to work well enough to stave off the stronger meds. How long is a cycle of Accutane? I mean, for how long do you take it? I'm not writing it off, yet.....
37I used proactive for awhile, but it dried out my skin sooooo bad. Recently, I started using philosophy products and my skin has never been this good. I highly recommend this line to those with acne prone sensitive skin.
38Now I don't know what to think. I just ordered Proactiv because I get reoccurring zits/cysts on my chin & forehead and I was sick of having 4 red dots on my face for the last 3 weeks and I totally had Jessica's skin in mind...
39She admitted she used Accutane when Newlyweds started, then she started promoting Proactiv, but I think I was the only one who remembered that! I think benzoyl peroxide is bad for your skin in the long run...like causing premature aging; too harsh with too many detergents.
40Sad, I was wrong.
41Ah accutane, on my second lot of it as the first course worked for a year, then stopped. Scary drug, its possibly one of the causes of my 27 year old cousins arthritis. Course I didnt know this when I went on it... Sometimes drastic situations call for drastic measures
42I'm glad I read this. Although I'm allergic to benzoyl peroxide (which sucks!) I was going to try out my sister's Pro-Active to see if it would have even the slightest affect. Now that I've actually realized (which I should have already) how much commercials lie, I definately won't even attempt. For all I know I could have ended up in the hospital...(for nothing!).
I've been using Aveeno's Clear Complexion Daily Moisturizer. I absolutely love it!
43I hated Pro-Active. I turned so red! The smell of their cleanser is really gross.
44Well that sucks i was just going to try pro active out but obviously it doesnt work so back to the drawing board for me.
45That is false advertising on her part for Proactive.
46BE CAREFUL WITH ACCUTANE!!
I took Accutane about 8 years ago when I was in high school. While it worked great for me, I was the unfortunate recipient of a rare side effect that almost KILLED me. It caused a very swift swelling of my brain which was immensely painful. I went into a fit of vomiting right in the middle of a choir concert and blacked out. I luckily was taken to the hospital quick enough where they were able to control the swelling, otherwise they would have had to CUT MY SKULL OPEN to alleviate the pressure but had high risks of brain damage, infection and death.
That's a lot to go thru for clear skin!!
47If she used accutane then why did she say that proactive cleared her skin! i am confused!
48Holy crap, Sandee! My derm wanted to put me on Accutane when I was in high school, but I had a really bad feeling about it so I've never done it. Your story makes me super glad about that. With my luck all the negative stuff that my friends kept telling me "never really happens" would have happened to me!
And I guess that's why Proactiv never worked for me - I wasn't taking the necessary Accutane beforehand.
Nice, Jessica, real nice. Ya freaking liar.
49Boo, talk about serious misrepresentation on Guthy-Renker AND JS' parts. Shame shame shame.
