Most women have cellulite, but FitSugar says there's basically nothing you can do to get rid of it. Deep down, I know it's not really a big deal, so I usually just let it go. That doesn't mean I have to love it, though, which is why I decided to try Bliss FatGirlSlim ($29). I read some reviews claiming that it worked, so I figured, why not.
Like many other cellulite-fighting creams, FatGirlSlim's main dimple-fighting ingredient is caffeine. Topically applied caffeine is said to burn fat on a cellular level just below the skin's surface, causing fat cells to shrink. Scientists seem to think this logic is a stretch, but I decided to see what happened after a few weeks' use.

I like the texture and consistency of FatGirlSlim. It's definitely a thick body cream rather than a thinner lotion, which somehow makes me think it's more serious than regular moisturizers. (The marketers have succeeded on that end.) The scent is lightly minty, which I also like. The instructions say to massage the cream into skin for 20 to 30 seconds, which I did twice a day for two weeks. My skin did feel superficially tighter, but I didn't see any drastic changes to my dimples.
And so, I present to you my right thigh. I took these photos wearing the same sleepytime shorts, around the same time of day, and in the same part of my house. One was taken two weeks ago, and the other one was taken today. At first, I was going to label the "before" and "after" shots, but instead, I'm going to let you guess which is which. Honestly, I can't see much of a difference, but maybe I'm wrong.

(I can't believe I just showed all of you my thighs.)
Anyway, I'm giving FatGirlSlim a star and a half. I hate to be that harsh, especially because I think so many Bliss products actually work wonders, but I didn't get anything out of this one. Sure, it felt tight and tingly, but the actual visual effect was a minimal improvement. While the cream does make skin feel firmer for a short while, it doesn't actually make a dent in the dimples. Like it or not, there isn't a magic cellulite-fighting cream. Or if there is, I still haven't found it.

This I need to try!
1Awww, Bella! Thanks for showing us your thighs and reviewing the product! Particularly since it doesn't look like it was worth it.
2I've always wondered about the fatgirlslim cream but now I know it's pretty useless! Thanks, Bella!
3Thanks for the honest review and for being brave enough to show us your thighs
4i can't really tell. but it appears that your thighs are perfectly nice, so no worries. thanks for testing this out!
5It doesn't look like you were having problems to begin with, but thanks for the honest review!
6that was very brave of you to show some thigh...which by the way contains no cellulite!!!! lol good for you tho...
anyways i use this cream and i like it alot! it takes a good couple of weeks of using it both day and night and rubbing it in vigourously for the recommended 20-30 seconds. but i def saw some results! i thought i was crazy at first and just seeing what i wanted to believe but i have this one permanent dimple in my one cheek and i would say it's pretty deep and by using the cream 2x a day for about 3 weeks i started to see the dimple lessen in its severity. it's definitely not a miracle cream but i think it's a good supplement to have along with working out and eating right.
also i have friends who use body shape (body sculpt? i cant remember which one) by hydro derm and i've definitely seen results on them. again i think it has more to do with the rubbing which supposedly stimulates the cells. but either way it's worth a try i guess, right?
7I just don't like the name of this product. It's like you're just trying to capture fat girls. What about skinny girls w/ cellulite?
8Coz I'm skinny w/ a little cellulite
9You're a good sport, Bella.
10I don't see any cellulite on either picture.
11Huh, I don't see any cellulite on your thighs to begin with...if I had thighs like yours I wouldn't even worry about it!
12A friend of mine was given this as a Chirstmas gift by her sister-in-law!
13thanks for taking one for the team bella
your thighs look fine by the way.
14You really don't need this product anyway, I don't see any cellulite on either photo!
15looks like you never needed it to begin with
16i've used this several times and never noticed any difference. maybe its because i don't use it continuously or maybe i'm just not rubbing it in well enough! does anyone else recommend any other brands? (besides the hydro derm?)
17Thanks for all the nice comments! I do have cellulite (as do most women!) but it's relatively subtle. I don't freak out about it because, really, what can you do about it? Like I said, I love Bliss, but I don't think any cellulite cream is going to magically get rid of the orange-peel skin.
Scarlet39, your poor friend! What a back-handed gift!
18It's true, most women have cellulite. I was suprised to see my friend (who is a ballet dancer and about 100 lbs) have cellulite.
I applaud you for having guts to show off your thighs and supposed cellulite! I'm guessing the first pic is the after?? Either way girl, you have nothing to worry about.
19thanks for taking one for the team, bella. when i saw the headline i thought it actually works. but to my dismay it doesn't, boo hoo. i guess life moves one.
20This did not do a thing for you, but you didn't really need it. Props for showing your thighs to the universe, b/c mine are my #1 problem area and will always remain somewhat undercover!
21I have always thought cellulite creams are bogus.
xo
22ditto fab
23thanks for letting us know about this product! i was tempted to buy and almost did awhile go...glad i held back. ;o)
24I knew a girl who used and anti-cellulite cream once, and got the worst rash...I have refused to try them ever since then.
Thanks for the honest review though, and for having the bravery to show us your thighs.
25I agree with the girls who said you never needed it to begin with!
26Tell us which picture is which!
27I thought this product was gunna be a waste of money! Thank you for setting us straight on the review, haha.
28You didn't have any dimples to begin wiith!
29OK. The before picture is on the left, and the after is on the right. Funny how you can't tell a difference!
30-_- you dont have cellulite!
damn your perfect thighs!!!
31OK, first, you don't have dimples in your thighs to begin with. Maybe that's why it didn't seem to work: there was nothing to fix!
32You know in order to get rid of cellulite you have to have some to get rid of! Silly girl, I see no dimples...
33what cellulite? in those pictures i don't see any!!! now if you'd look at the back of MY thighs...particularly the upper portion, now there's major dimplage. so really, NO WORRIES!
34Bella, I adore you.
And I can't see any difference between the two pics.
35Honest, you guys. It's there! I promise!
36Bella, I think you're right... I can't tell which is the before picture and which is the after picture. I honestly don't notice a difference...
37I can't tell a difference, but then again, I don't notice any cellulite either. I've heard good things about Nivea's Goodbye Cellulite though, which I might have to try.
38Girfriend! First and foremost, your thighs look like supermodel perfection compared to those of Britney "Trainwreck" Spears- why that girl keeps flashing her cottage cheese, no one can say...
P.S. You have cellulite? Can't tell...
39i'm using this Jergen's skin firming cream i've read about. I also have the bliss cellulite massager nubby-thing. So i've been massaging this cream into my thighs for the past week (i can't believe i'm telling people this) and i must say i've seen a slight difference. i've also started running about 30 minutes twice a week hoping that will help firm things up... and trying to drink more water. i agree with bella, i'm not sure there's much to do about it.
40I'm actually seeing good results w/Nivea's Goodbye Cellulite, but you honestly don't need it!
41is after the left thigh?
42Kudos, Bella! I don't have the guts to do what you did! Thanks for the honest review!
43The only thing that has worked for me is DRY SKIN BRUSHING.
Google it.
It's amazing... makes my skin smooth and glowy from head to toe, and seriously some results with the cellulite problem. You do it before exercising, going into a sauna, or shower.. then when you get out - apply a light [NATURAL] oil mixture to your skin (there are essential oils that promote circulation, etc. but I can't give away my secret recipe, sorry
) and believe me, your skin will thank you.
Seriously, do it now!
44Um, honey... it doesn't look like you need any product to make your cellulite go away, you practically don't have any!
I have a dimple butt and I'm only 18. Ha.
45I read somewhere and my mother swears by coffee grinds. Just take the used grinds and rub and she swears it works wonders and well, my mother is hard to please.
46COFFEE (for cellulite): Take warm morning coffee grinds and massage onto skin, use plastic wrap to trap the granules against the skin for 10 minutes. The results will appear almost immediately and will last up to 12 hours.

47Hi,
48I used to have pretty bad cellulite ever since my pregnancy days. I tried altering my diet and did a lot of exercise which friends and family members recommended but my skin was still lumpy and floppy. I then recently read an article by a lady who claimed to have got rid of her cellulite using a particular cream. I tried it and it worked really well. Within a couple of weeks my skin had improved so much and I actually managed to get rid of my cellulite. Really good stuff.
