Lauren may have retired from The Hills, but she's certainly still a presence on the red carpet. For the VMAs, she ditched her extensions and went with a 1930s-inspired style held back with a sweet hair clip. Her makeup was all whisper pinks, from eyes to cheeks and lips. She definitely doesn't look overdone the way some celebrities do on the red carpet, but do you think her soft pastels were right for the VMAs — or should they have stayed in Malibu?

I think her hair is kind of cute. Definitely a change for her, which is nice to see.
Makeup-wise, though, I think the eyeliner is too heavy and the pastel tones on her cheeks/lips wash her out.
1Her makeup looks like it was slathered on, wayyyyy too heavy.
2i like her hair
3her make up to much pastel
Her makeup is VERY backwards for the look she's going for. She should have opted for a nude eye and red lips!!!
4She needs a new makeup artist, she looks about 10 years older than she is.
5Should've picked a better lip color. Her lips disappeared. =/
6bad lip color. she always chooses those colors which make her look like she has no lips
7Oh man, the chicks from The Hills all need to easy up on the self-tanner. They're all the same shade of orangey bronze tonight.
8She looks like Kate Chopin
9She looks very orange.
10TOO MUCH! Too much make-up, too much tanner!!!
11Loved the hair and makeup, very sophisticated.
12Too much makeup and tanner. She definitely looks 10 years older than she is. I agree with above - the all pink palette washes her out.
13nasty makeup on a pretty girl! who is giving her makeup tips? they need to be fired!
that unnatural skin tone doesn't suit her hair color or her eyes, and the foundation has seeped into every crease and wrinkle it can find, making her look old and decrepit. her lipstick looks awful with the fake tan - orange and pink do not complement one another.
it's the tan. she needs to loose the tan. the makeup would flow if her skin wasn't orange. however, i do agree with a previous poster: if she's going for a 20's/30's glam look, she needs red lipstick with subtle black mascara on her eyes.
14Adore the hair if I could only see past the makeup
15She looks washed out AND overdone-- I didn't think it possible!
16i dont think i like this look for her the hair the lip stick the mascara
17too much make up - she looks like she has a moustache as it's all gathered on her upper lip.
cute hair style, but i definitely think if you go for this 1930's do - it needs bold red lips
18she looks 42...
