Come to think of it, we haven't seen a whole lot of updos this evening, so this slicked-back 'do on Nelly Furtado is rather refreshing. Ever since her breakthrough song "I'm Like a Bird" came out in 2000, I've had my eye on the exotic-looking singer. Perhaps you might recall her blonder than blond look from the 2007 VMAs that most of you were not digging? Tonight, the songstress goes for a more refined style, her dark brown locks pulled back into a classic twist, accentuating her delicate features. What do you think of her 2009 look, complete with smoky gray eyes and matte lips? Is it a bit too prim and proper for your liking or does she say it right?

The hair is very severe...and I think she needs a little more color on her lips.
Love it. I like the smoky grey eye w/ the matte nude/pinkish lip.
shes so pretty....not matter what
I don't like the matte lips.
Perfection.
I like her gray eyeshadow - really compliments her eye color. The pink lip is a little on the bland side for me. She's still very pretty with this look.
i hate it, it makes her eyes look goofy
Her makeup's fine but I hate, hate, hate that hairdo and those earrings. They make her look so old.
Helmet hair alert
I this is too severe for her.
she needed some gloss defentaly
best look of the night?! I think so! I really like Nelly Furtado when she first got famous; but I haven't liked her for the last five years since she sold out and went hip hop. but she is till very beautiful and her dark hair and stunning eyes are amazing together. I don't love the lipstick but I don't think it looks bad. the hair is simple but beautiful and sophisticated; the eye makeup is gorgeous; and the earring are awesome...
the hairdo is a problem, but it's ok, she's nelly!
