It's hard to imagine that there's a new eyelash curler out on the market from Shu Uemura since the old one has been at the top of the charts for several years now. It is actually so popular that at one time they made a limited-edition 24 carat gold version of it.
Even so, now you can buy the new Shu Curler ($18) which claims to have upgraded features and enhanced precision. Some of the improvements include a mushroom-shaped pad for improved safety, comfort and optimum curl; a new hinge that applies just the right amount of pressure on your eyelashes; and an ergonomic handle for better control.

Available in black and red, Sephora Detail Lash Curler ($14) is perfect for those of you who complain that you can't get all of your lashes curled all at once with standard lash curlers. This baby is cut slightly smaller, so you can attack one section of your lashes at a time. Here's a tip: crimp the outer corners for a few seconds longer than the rest to create a flirty cat eye!
Tweezerman Deluxe Lash Curler ($9) is crafted to be extra sturdy to help create a smooth and intense curl. The opening of the metal clamp contains a soft black pad that is rounded for your comfort. I haven't tried this one, but I feel like any tool that Tweezerman makes must be rockin'.

hmm i don't know, I have a pretty good one from missha which only cost me like two or three dollars.
1I have Shu Uemura's eye lash curler & I love it. It's a lil steep for $18, but a girl's gotta splurge every now & then!
2The Kevyn Aucoin curler is also really great. I have been using the Shu Uemura one for years and love it, though I think I might love Kevyn's slightly more. I decided to try it after seeing it mentioned somewhere as being better than Shu Uemura's. The hinges don't seem to loosen up as fast, making it last longer than the Shu version. Also, I feel like it gives me a better curl more consistently.

4I always curl my lashes - in fact, I have to before applying mascara, so I definitely want to try these out instead of using the cheap ones I have! However, I must say the brand I usually use (Revlon) is really not bad. I really want to experiment with a smaller one though, like the Sephora one pictured here.
5I've had the Shu and its pretty good but the Shiseido is the only one that fits my eye socket at all well. That details one from Sephora crimped my lashes...but I have serious lash issues.
6being asian, it's really hard to find one that's not too curved cuz it just ends up pinching my eyelids (which sucks)...any suggestions?
7i was blessed/cursed with eyelashes that are naturally curly. I've had girls tell me that they would kill for my eyelashes naturally but i do wonder do eyelash curlers just curl or do they straighten eyelashes out too??? my eyelashes tend to clump or turn a lot and i'm not a big mascara fan so usually i'm just stuck..
8I have long eyelashes that look fine without being curled, so I don't even own an eyelash curler.

12Cindee_rella - I am Asian, see my suggestions above (Kevyn Aucoin and Shu Uemura). Shu Uemura is a Japanese brand, which is why it works well for Asian eyes -- it doesn't pinch. Neither does the Kevyn Aucoin one. I always get compliments on my lashes

14I guess I'm just one of those lucky people that doesn't really need one.
15Adore my Shu. Even if I don't "need" it, it makes a huge difference. I think every makeup savvy girl should have a curler. Took me awhile to get used to the Shu from my old curlers but recently I tried one of my old ones and it seemed so weak and didn't make a difference on my lashes at all- the Shu however, does!
16all eyelash curlers just don't work for me.

My Revlon eyelash curler has never let me down; although I must say that I think its time to change the little foam pad.

19Add another vote for the Kevyn Aucoin eyelash curler, because i've had 3 Shu curlers and while thay are great at first-- I would try to buy new pads for them ans I was told I HAD to buy an entirly new curler because with everyday use they warp! I was mad... Then I discovered my beloved Aucoin curler- I use it everyday (c'mon... you got to look good at the office!) and it has not warped, bent AND I can buy replacement pads!
20I have the Shu Umera 24k gold eyelash curler, and I love it. =) Through, the gold does fade. =(
21I'll try my Revlon one again before buying a new one. But if I don't see results I'll try one of the ones above. I've read that Shu is the best. Thanks!

25I just bought a shu a month ago and I cannot believe the difference between it and my cheap cover girl and revlon curler. I will never go back, totally worth the price in my opinion.
26Don't even bother with the Sephora heated curler (looks like a comb). It does nothing!
