Must-Have of the Moment: Tend Skin

Readers have been steadily writing in asking about how to resolve your ingrown hair problem. Pesty post-waxing and shaving bumps look red, irritated and they can even itch a little bit. It's time you learn about Tend Skin Liquid.

This oldie but goodie has been a part of my life for years. I use it on my bikini line, and guys often use it on their face and on the back of the neck—essentially, wherever ingrown hairs usually form.

To use, dampen a cotton ball with Tend Skin and pat it onto the bumps you'd like to banish. You'll feel a little bit of a tingling sensation. That's okay; just wait about twenty to thirty seconds for it to dry and you're good to go for the day.

Now your bikini line will look beautiful for the duration of your beach days! Tend Skin is available in a four-ounce bottle ($20), an eight-ounce bottle ($35) and a 16-ounce bottle ($50). But if you're allergic to aspirin, take a pass: One of Tend Skin's main ingredients is acetylsalicylic acid, which is—you guessed it—aspirin.

This stuff really does work! My esthetician told me about it about two years ago and I've been using it ever since. It doesn't smell the best but it's a small price to pay for a true fix for ingrowns!

I've been using this for years and it works. Yeah it stinks like alcohol and vinegar but it works! I rather smell that than have an ingrown hair. Good stuff!! Smiling

hmmm i use this and it does work well (though stinky =P) but I don't feel "tingling"...its more like a little burning sensation...kinda like the kind you feel when you apply toner to your face! might just be the sesitivity of my skin? but it does work nicely!

I found a much cheaper version that works just as well at Sally Beauty Supply. It's amazing and doesn't smell as bad. And I think I paid $3.99.

I will have to check my medicine cabinet to see what the name is. But it's in a green bottle with a gray pour spout.

Oh yeah! has anyone ever tried any epil-stop type formulas for shaving? I used some in Japan (ironically called Epil-Stop lol)and it works WONDERS. Seriously, I shave, apply some epil-stop soap/lotion while still in the shower, and it prevented hair from growing back sooooooo slowly (and came back more finely!)that I didn't need to shave for weeks! I haven't been able to find any stuff like that back here in the US, so if you know any products similar to that, _please_ let me know about them!!!

(ps. the Epil-stop here I've heard about here in the US isn't the same thing I'm talking about. ALl I've been able to find is "hair removal" lotion. I'm looking for hair removal, I'm looking for more of a PREVENTION, to slow down growth...)

It is a bit pricey, but a little goes a long way. And "tingling" isn't the word I'd use either. It burns...

I use it right after shaving and it stings a little but I never get bumps! And this is coming from an extremely bump prone person.

Where do you find this stuff? I have mucho sensitive skin and anything other than non-smelling lotion usually gives me razor bumps. I can handle the smell, esp. if it goes away so that I don't have to deal with the bumps.

I have to say I'm happy it works for someone, I hate this stuff it burns me like crazy and stinks to high heaven. I use something called PFB it does the same thing but, it comes in like a roll on deodorant like container and it has lactic acid in it also to help lighten any dark spots that you may have. It does not burn if you put it on the day after you get waxed so if you are sensitive to Tend Skin give this a try. I order mine online!
