The most recent story focusing on girls heading to the beauty parlor at younger and younger ages comes to us today from Lebanon, where requests for chocolate facials and purple manicures are becoming the norm. "It's not about spoiling our children," Maya Hilal, owner of Beirut's Spa-Tacular, told the AFP. "It's a matter of maintaining their cleanliness. It's hygiene. It's feeling good about yourself," she added. In another Lebanese salon across town, the clientele, some as young as four, get blue and pink manicures in the colorfully decorated setting, all while wearing their pink robes and glittery eye shadow. But how young is too young? While I dabbled with toy makeup and kiddy nail polish in my youth, I didn't have my first true spa experience until well into my twenties. What about you?

Never been to one, and probably never will- I just don't see the fun in lying all day while somebody tortures/pampers you to look a bit prettier. Boooring.
1Spa services are wonderful, but not for children. Maybe a mani-pedi for a 12 or 13 year old, but not a massage or facial.
2I am 19 and have never been to a spa, but i told my friend i would go with her the next time she goes.
3Never been. Maybe if I get money and time. I did get a facial once from a beauty school student but she didn't take into account that my skin was oily and my face looked like a grease ball when she was done
4I started getting mani/pedi by a pro around 11, first massage around 12. It was a "grown up" treat, though, never the norm. I still only go a few times a year.
5Never been. I'm 22. I just don't see a need...personally.
Also, I don't have the money. =[ The only time I pamper myself is when the bf buys me massages for either my b-day or Christmas.
6I was 19 - it was for a bachelorette party weekend and it was so much fun and so relaxing (it doesn't have to be about painful aesthetic practices or insanely overpriced services - hanging out in the pools and jacuzzis is cheap and fun). I liked it so much that I got my mom a gift card to Burke Williams for her birthday - we went together an had such a great, relaxing time.
7However, while I can see taking your daughter once as a treat and just doing the cute, fun things like getting her nails painted (nothing else, really; a massage, etc. is not appropriate; and why bother giving little girls stuff like facials - they still have good skin and it would probably do more harm than good); I just hate this whole "trend" (I know; I say "trend" in a bad and sarcastic way) of girls growing up too quickly - too much excess of everything. there's no innocence left anymore...
I'm 21 & I've never been.
8I've of never been, I don't really see the point as I do most of my "beautifying" myself. (Saves a bucketload of moneys!)
9I'm 21 and I've never been. Although this summer I was going to go to a nice spa with my mom. However we had to cancel it because I got sick!
Hopefully I'll go again soon.
10It is really nice to be pampered but I don't think it is for younger girls. I try to go a couple of times a year just for me.
11I was 16 and was hanging out with my mom. I picked her up and surprised her with a day at the spa. She cried in the lobby cause she was so surprised and touched. I am the best son ever
It was a great day
12I don't really see the fun in going to one. I've never been and I probably won't ever go.
13We didn't even have a fast food place, much less a spa, in the small village I grew up in, but maybe that was a good thing! Anyway, I love spending time doing things like that myself. I usually do stuff like that on an early weekend morning so I can enjoy the process.
14would go if it weren't so expensive!! I don't see the point in giving away hundreds of dollars to feel good... giving away that much money can only make u feel not good!
15Getting my nails done...was almost a 'coming of age' thing for me.
...I think the first time was when I was a freshman in highschool.
...and don't even think about not having a mani/pedi for prom or dances. You'd have been shunned in the small town I grew up in.
(but then again, moving to the south from the north...makes it hard to break into 'already made' groups of friends anyway) oh well...
Everything seems to be happening to children younger and younger. When did you get your first cell phone?...I didn't get one until I could drive, and even then...it was so I could call my parents or vice versa. There was no texting plan.
16Never been. I don't paint my nails, and I can do a mask at home while watching TV or reading a book. Going to a spa just sounds boring and pointlessly expensive.
1714 I think. But it was more of a dermatologist's. I got loads of treatments for my acne.
18I am a spa virgin...
19I'm 25 and have never been. I just got a Bliss gift certificate, though...can't wait!!
20Between 18-20, I had my 1st spa experience. During my early 20s, I had my 1st facial. I kind of think these are good experience for a girl.
