Oh, Debra Messing, what are you doing? For the most part, she's one hot mama at the unveiling of Saks' new shoe department: Her outfit is fantastic, her makeup is gorgeous... and then there's the issue of her hair. I never thought her red hair was completely natural, but these roots distract from everything else that's going right.
If you're ever in between color appointments, you can avoid this sort of root display fairly easily. Bumble and Bumble makes a aerosol hair powder ($39) that can be sprayed on roots. It's a fine, tinted powder that covers roots while adding volume and soaking up oil. While it's not cheap, it's less expensive than a color treatment—and a worthwhile investment if you know you're going to be photographed!

I love Debra Messing however how did she not see how bad her roots are?

not the fact that she couldn't get some hairspray and run a comb through to stop that terrible frizz. good god! why did she even walk out of the house!!!!!!
4i didn't really notice, it just looks kind of like she has a spotlight on the top of her head. pictures come out like that sometimes--we're just so used to seeing darker roots that this looks kind of odd. overall i don't think it looks that bad.
5Yea, the root line does look bad, but her hair overall is frizzy looking. It would've looked better slicked back with some Kiehl's Creme with Silk Groom.

7Her smile is the thing that is weird in this pic. Usually her smile is so natural, here it looks uber-strained.

What I did notice first however, is that horrible frizz!
9Her roots aren't even that bad At All! I see more "blonde" starlets with HORRIBLE roots. They make Debra look natural in comparison. I think she looks great. Hair a little frizzy, but whatever she looks happy and normal!

13She was in New York for that event and it's been incredibly humid here, which doesn't help even the best hair. I think she just needs to cut and style it. The ponytail thing doesn't work on her.

15it's so true that just one simple little thing like that detracts from all the other things that she got right (eg makeup). Whilst I'm never one for thinking that stars should "always" look fabulous regardless of what they're doing, this wasn't like she was taking out the trash or going to get a carton of milk; she was at an actual event here, was she not? bah.
16I think its really weird how celebrities will dress up when they go grocery shopping, than forget the anti-frizz serum when they are going to be on TV. They are wealthy public figures, and when I look better on a regular day at work, That is really sad, because they probably make like 90 times what I do, and yet I manage to make a hair appointment every six weeks, and I am 15! Dyed hair has responsibilities.
17why would she do this? does she not have anyone around her to yank her back in the house and tell her she cant go out in public like that?
18are those blonde? you know what else helps hide the roots? wear it curly!
