Blue makeup is back, and I'm not talking about subtle icy pastels or navys. I mean bold turquoise, ocean and sea-foam greeny-blue hues! If you think that you can't pull these off because of your eye color, think again! These new shades have no rules. Just remember a few helpful hints and you'll look fab this fall.
Choose shades that aren't too matchy with your eye color, and remember to blend well! Also, if you are going to wear bold, daring color on your eyes, then keep the rest of your makeup light.
Dior Eye Show in Aquadelic ($30) is a creamy, soufflé-textured, waterproof eye shadow that puts other color pots to shame. You just need a super-small amount to make a big impression! These shadows used to be the secret of Dior makeup artists, but now they are available to the masses!

Sweet!
I love bluish/greenish eyeshadow!
It makes eyes pop and so pretty!
Great - but can someone do a tutorial on how to apply without looking like an 80's hooker?
I second CestLaVie comment!
In theory, I think it could be cute.
In reality, I stand in line behind CestLaVie - the only people I ever see wearing it look like 80's hookers.
I laughed when I read this, since today I'm wearing the bright turquoise eyeliner I got at Sephora.
Those colors are very nice, and I would love to try them. But you really need to apply it correctly and I'm not so sure I have the technique down. Otherwise I agree with Greggie and CestLaVie, I'm not trying to perfect the hooker look!
i LOVE this color....i have a mineral powder shadow from ULTA called "marine" that looks a lot like this....i just wish i knew if it would still look good in the fall...it seems so summery!
I like this look....as long as it is applied correctly. I'd say stay just strictly above lashline....none of that creeping up onto the brow-bone! That's when ya get into trouble.
Have this in a different color...stays on great.
sorry I was talking about the Dior one
I want to try these, I'd probably just do crease to lashline and use a light highlight color. I've seen some people use a bright color on the entire lid and it looks like an 80's hooker.
I like the color..but how it can be applied without looking tacky is the issue.
My eyes are already blue-green, so I don't know how this would work for me...I really like the colors, though.
wow, for once i'm ahead of the curve a little. I have the Lancome Excursion shadow and it's just beautiful. like others, i don't want to look like an 80's bad memory, but one trick is to apply the shadow as an eyeliner. it's a little more subtle and makes your eyes stand out, but not too much.
I love these colors
I love the Dior one
These are all lovely, but the Dior one is especially beautiful. Reminds me that I've been meaning to get some eyeshadow in this sort of color!
I have dark blue eyes with a little green so I have to pass on these, but I'm so in love! With brown eyes these would be amazing.
Isn't 30 dollars kind of a lot to pay to look cheap?
I think it only works with light eyes.
When did it go? I love blue and green shadow!
I've played with the blue-greens and I just can't make it work for me personally. However, I did some beautiful makeup on an indian woman for a wedding and used aqua. The color looked beautiful on her tan skin with dark hair and eyes.
I love Mac "Tilt"- I call it my mermaid shade. It looks amazing in the summer with just a bit of highlighter on the cheekbones and some clear gloss.
I love the colors, but how do you make it work?
I've got the Dior & Lancome already. They're such pretty colors!
I love blue and green eyeshadows... especially lately. The Dior one has a bit of an odor. Not a pleasant one, as Tidalwave23 and I discovered recently at Sephora. Maybe the tester was old, but it still was gross. I decided on getting a star powder from Make up forever (#24). It is great because it can worn sheer or intense. I find myself sweeping it across my lid on top of a light neutral shadow for day. For night, using a wet brush to apply it on my lid into the crease and out the corners with a black shadow as liner and contour in the crease, adding a bit of shimmery white in the corners. HOT! Definitely not hooker like, more like fairy princess mermaid chic.
I wear these types of colors ALL the time. Most of the time I use the color to line my eyes. It works pretty good. I really need to learn some make-up tips though.
love the colors
nice, I'll definitely try it, and I think it would look nice paired with peach tones
