Welcome to the final installment of blue is back, my four part series on blue makeup. Today we are looking at a couple of bad-ass electric blue mascaras. These are great when navy feels too safe, but you're feeling scared that purple might make you look bloodshot. Blues are a great way to add edginess to a natural or smokey eye.
Bourjois Maxi Frange Maximum Length And Volume Mascara Waterproof in Bleu Bora Bora ($19) is a double-sided, waterproof mascara. It's a gorgeous color that reminds me of aqua-green waters just as they meet royal blue skies on a tropical horizon.
One side houses a comb containing a creamy formula to help separate the lashes and prevent clumping, and the other side houses a round brush that adds length and volume. Use both sides for the ultimate dramatic eye!

Sephora Mascara Fantastic Color in Blue ($6) is an ultra-vibrant mascara with cool packaging. It comes in a flexible squeezy tube, so that you can actually make use of the product at the bottom. Also, it has a new slim wand to help you create a more precise look.
Finally, Dior Show Mascara in Azure Blue ($23) is a rich, high-pigment, bright blue mascara. One coat will give you longer, thicker, curvier lashes and two coats will give you dramatic volume and shine for an electrifying runway-ready look. Speaking of runways, I'm reporting from Fashion Week this week—so stay tuned for my trend picks!

Colored mascara seems to come and go. Really can't stand them.
1Blue really does make brown eyes pop.
2I do use Dior black mascara though and love it. Love the brush/applicator.
3I havent worn colored mascara since I was a teen, although these make me want to try it again.
4I might just do the tips of my eyelashes with blue, but then I won't use a bright eyeshadow or dark eyeliner so that I can get come contrast.
5for some reason the blue mascara looks too 80's on me.
I have green eyes, which sometimes change to a grey or turquoise hue, and I just can't seem to make it work.
Mostly what looks good on me are dark purples, violets, lavenders with the green eyes.
Although when I was like, 16 I used to wear this red mascara that looked pretty cool. I just don't think the blue goes well with my eyes.
6I'm not a fan of blue eye make-up all together.
7i use the benefit badgal blue, and you can't even tell its blue! it makes my green eyes stand out more; this is a great trend
8It seems like this would only work well on lighter skin tones...
9I swore that I would NEVER wear blue nail polish, blue anything after that huge craze for it in the late nineties... I can't even wear blue eyeshadow without cringing...
10I have brown eyes and skin and blue mascara always looks great on my eyes. I think you just have the right face and style to pull it off.
11the best blue mascara is by BENEFIT
12it's fabulous!...it doesn't look 80's and its very subtle...
and it definitely does make brown eyes appear even larger
cornflake girl, i just read your post
13I have been using colored mascaras for years - and nothing is better than blue! it really helps make the eye pop, not to mention that if your eyes are tired it makes them look more awake as it brings out the whites...i also have brown eyes, and blue eyeshadows and blue mascaras really look good with a brown eye.
right now i have been using benefit bad gal, but it clumps a lot. i use dior show as my regular black mascara, and so i am excited to hear its in blue.
the bourjois one sounds amazing though...and today i was at sephora and this girl with the most glowy skin and beautiful lashes who worked there told me that she uses bourjois mascara. i like that this one has the double ended combing then mascaring.
thanks for the tips!!!
14I love blue mascara, it's so fun!!!
15I used almay blue mascara before, it looked black unless there was alot of bright light then it looked dark blue if you were actually paying attention
