As Lucy could tell you, red is the rarest, and perhaps most coveted, hair color (so much so that Ms. Ball dyed her naturally blond hair her now iconic shade of carrot). And for thousands of years, people have been coming up with stories about it. In the Middle Ages, for example, people with a certain shade of red hair were considered unmistakably vampires or werewolves, and early Renaissance alchemists believed the blood of a red-haired man was necessary to turn copper into gold (aren't we sorta glad we live in a post-alchemy world?). For every crazy superstition, ginger stereotype, or story about a fiery temper, though, there's an actual, interesting fact about red hair. Take my quiz and find out just how much you actually know about our flame-haired brethren.

3/5, and I'm a natural born redhead. Whoops!
1me too, 3/5 and natural redhead! hmm..
21/5 Must be because I only have red undertones.
31/5 - ugh!
4I dye my hair red and got 3/5.
54/5, I was blond as a child but over time my hair changed to brown.
63/5, I sported red hair for three years!
73/5 - My son has the most beautiful bright red curls. While I was giving birth to him, all I could hear was the doctors and nurses saying, “Look at that hair! Would you just look at that!” Rather disconcerting, considering the circumstances (ahem.). But, his hair is so noticeable, that when he goes out with his day care class, my colleagues will stop by to give me hourly reports on where he was last spotted. His hair is like a built in GPS system. I always know if his class is playing at the park near my office!
