Going darker or redder, like Scarlett did in January, is the traditional seasonal change to make to your hair. But I don't see as many people doing it as often as magazines suggest. I don't know that I usually think about seasonal propriety when I get my hair done, but maybe I should. What about you? Have you gone redder or darker as the days get shorter? Or is your hair color only dependent on your mood?

Full Circle
last year i colored the underneath half of my hair auburn red (so it peeked out under my layers). getting rid of it this year, apparently some people think the ombre hair thing is cool and while mine isnt ombre, the whole two toned thing is old to me now lol.
1Been changing my hair a bit darker + a bit more red every October/November for the last 5 years.
2Yeah, back in september, but it was a semi so it washed out a few days ago. Now I'm back to my dark brown color. I'm tempted to recolor though. I've been darkening and adding red every fall for the past 5 years.
3no, sounds like a stupid idea to me. i like my hair colour and it took a lot of time and effort to get it to be the perfect shade i wanted. i don't want to ruin it. anyway, when I had natural hair colour it never changed with the seasons, so it's unnatural to me.
4hmm. i didnt really do it because it was fall like
OH GOD, FALL LET ME REDDEN MY HAIR.
it was a transitional time for me, starting college, and i wanted a change. i figured id go with a darker red rather than a bleach blonde so it didnt look like a ridiculous change.
its a little how people tan in the fall and that looks really unnatural because the fall isnt time to hang out and go tanning at the pool or beach, its normally getting pretty cold, dark, rainy, getting toward snowy, at least where i am, so blonde highlights and tan skin are unnatural.
i like my natural color but sometimes its fun to change it up.
5Yes, that's the perks of being a girl!
6I only change my hair color when I travel--I go darker when I know I'll be in Africa or the Middle East just because it draws fewer looks than blonde/light brown.
7I darkened my hair a little last month, from my natural medium brown to a darker brown. It's subtle and I love it! In the Spring I'll probably lighten it a little bit. It's fun! I won't go red though, I was a redhead for three years and it was great, but I'm kind of over that fake red hair look now.
8I always end up doing it backwards... by the end of summer, I've decided that I want highlights again, so I go light, and then am usually back to dark (more natural for me) in the spring.
9I keep my hair the same color all year.
10Yes, I tend to go darker in fall, lighter in spring.
11Dyed my hair black a few months ago
12um i dont let the seasons control my hair color..lol..i only change when i want a new look
13I dyed my hair red last month, it's starting to wash out more and more so I'm thinking of redying soon.
14I typically get highlights late spring, continue through the summer and then go back to a darker brown for fall. I look forward to the changes!
15My skin color changes with the seasons, so why not my hair color? I am palest in spring so I opt for red in the spring. In summer, I use a self tanner so I'm not too casper white, and usually I lighten up my hair and do a dark blonde with blonde highlights. By September, I stop using tanner and am back to my porcelain white, so I put in a warm light brown for fall, otherwise the blonde completely washes me out.
I am getting ready to go to the salon in two weeks to have my hair done for the holidays and I'm thinking of doing red again. I love that I can change my haircolor to compliment my ever changing skin tone.
BTW- I love that color on Scarlett - she looks gorgous there.
16I'm a natural ash blonde by the way and it completely washes me out most of the year, so I'm never my natural color.
17I had mine colored darker last fall and decided to stick with it year round. I go slightly lighter (caramel at the lightest) for spring/summer but the base stays dark brown. That's my natural color and it just suits me better than going blonder.
18I have. in fact, I might do it again this year.
19I do. It helps my skin in the Winter, and makes it appear brighter/less dull. I hope Scarlett stays with red, it's a great color on her.
20No. I like my natural color.
21I am a natural golden blonde, but I have always wanted to go strawberry blonde with it. Hmmmm. Maybe this is my year to try something new.
22And I agree with the previous posters. Scarlett looks great with that dark hair. Very dramatic.
