To smell Amazing Grace shower gel is to love the scent. It's soft, slightly sweet, and it somehow reminds me of that wonderful clean-baby smell. (Oprah loves it so much that she named it one of her favorite things in 2005!) But as much as I love the scent, I don't love this shower gel. It's supposed to be a three-in-one body cleanser, shampoo and bubble bath. Unfortunately, it's a good bubble bath, only an adequate shower gel, and a lousy shampoo.
First, I tried Amazing Grace as a shower gel. I was so excited about smelling good afterward, and I happily lathered myself up. During the shower, everything was great, but the scent didn't linger. A few days later, I used it as a bubble bath and was happy with the bubbles, but found that my skin got a little dried-out. Until this point, it was no big deal. But then I made the mistake of using the gel as a shampoo. Quelle horreur! Despite thoroughly rinsing my hair, it was left with a dirty, greasy feeling. Amazing Grace smells wonderful and I'd like to try it in a different form, but as a shampoo, it's just amazingly yech.

I'm surprised that it was so bad for your hair, I've used other scents of the 3 in 1 and been happy with it.
1I've never experienced problems with Philosophy's products so I'm sorry to hear you that you did. Amazing Grace was my mother's favorite product line and when she was alive, she used everything and loved it.
2I love the Amazing Grace shower gel 3-in-1 but also wish the scent lasted longer. I've never been brave enough to try it as shampoo.
3I love the Amazing grace scent and the shower gel, but I agree with redegg, I would love the scent to last longer. Some of my cheaper gels have a longer lasting scent.
4Yep, I think it's a problem with most of Philosophy's scents on their own. When layered though, it lasts much, much longer. I personally prefer the bar soap to the gel. That layered under body lotion and then perfume and you're good to go. Except now I'm starting to prefer Pure Grace though.
5Love Philosophy! Sorry to hear AG didn't work for you. It's best when layered w/ the firming emulsion lotion & spray. You must try Pure Grace- it's creamier works better as a the 3 in 1.
6I was just out at Sephora picking up some feel-better-about-the-day essentials, and I noticed that Philosophy is selling an Amazing Grace fragrance ... just eau de toilette, but maybe ideal for people that don't love the wash or the cream, but love the smell!
7Yeah, you need to layer to make a scent really last. I like that I don't smell like my shower gel, since I don't want it to clash with my perfume. Also, as much as I enjoy Spiced Apple Cider, Mimosa, and the other 3-in-1s, I don't want to smell like them after I get out of the shower.
