Ulta, Sephora, and the department and drugstore aisles are all playgrounds for the cosmetics-obsessed. But once you've made your purchases, do you get that familiar feeling of guilt in the pit of your stomach?
There's no denying that shopping is an emotional experience. In fact, a recent article in the Wall Street Journal points out that shopping creates a sense of euphoria. Then, the bad part happens. Once the credit card is swiped through the machine, feelings of guilt can start to accumulate. Now that the holidays are upon us, I'm sure people will be hitting up shops with greater frequency. Do you think you'll experience buyer's remorse, or do you have a good grip on preventing overspending on beauty items at the stores?

Sometimes I have remorse and sometimes I don't. It depends on a couple of things: how does my bank account look, do I really need what I'm buying, is this something I can use daily or just for special occasions?
All the time. When I'm in the fitting room I try to convince myself to get that pair of jeans or jacket. Then when I get home I realize it doesn't fit properly. I can't even return it sometimes. Lol I need to work on that.
all the time with me,so I just stopped buying myself stuff and just focus on the kids.that looks like me walking around a mall looking at my all my receipts
Most definitely! Especially since I got married.
Yes. I have even gone back the same day to do returns.
nope, after I shop and before I pay I go through everything I am about to buy and I ask myself "DO I really need/want this?". Usually I will put back everything I am ify about and only buy what I really want/need.
i rarely do but i did the other day pretty bad because i found something i liked better afterwards and thought i made a bad choice...after worrying for 2 days i ended up returning what i'd bought and bought the other stuff
No. I do most of my shopping online and I don't buy something unless I really want it. I also generally don't buy pricey items so if something is a bust then I'm not out a lot of money.
Yep frequently...and i hate shops that don't let you exchange or return.
I get it a lot. I'll feel terrible but I'll rarely ever go back and return anything.
Sometimes.
I used to. Now I just don't care. I have a feeling I won't live very long so I buy whatever I want.
Sometimes, especially when I make big purchases. I just try to control myself more and only buy something when I can't get it off my mind for a few days.
I do, pretty often actually. I'm a bit neurotic when it comes to money, I'm always worrying where it's going and how much we're saving and blah, blah, blah...So when I shop I ask myself do I need this? Can I live without it? Is it on sale? I'm into buying sale items, I rarely buy things full price. I'm cheap and it causes difficulty with shopping. ha.
I am bipolar and impulse is a big issue with the disorder and so I am a shop owners dream when I have my credit cards armed. It can be very difficult, so yes I almost always have buyer's remorse.
i cant afford to have buyer's remorse haha! i buy what i need, and check my guilt before the transaction. this sounds very much like an addiction, usually you know something is an addiction when it makes you feel guilty directly afterwards
I think I have buying bulimia: I love to shop, and then either return or sell my purchases on ebay within a week!
Almost never. I'm very deliberate and thoughtful with my purchases.
Truthfully, I think I can count the number times I returned something on one hand, and perhaps have fingers left over. Seriously.
I I'm surprised at the number of positive answers!
I don't buy a lot of things and almost never expensive ones, so I never feel guilty. Quite the contrary, I'm usually sorry I didn't stock up on things I love after they stop being sold.
Sometimes I do, but most times I try to make sure I really want something before I buy it.
Nope. I often times shop a lil' too much and spend a lil' too much money, but 1) I love to shop, and 2) I use/ wear/ love 90% of what I buy. So I generally don't feel guilty!
