Ford Models has been uploading videos of its models to the Web, and I get such a kick out of seeing what the models have to say. I'll be honest: Some of them have that (unintentional?) I'm-so-beautiful thing going on, and the last thing I need is to see a bikini model prancing around in a fitting room. With that said, though, some of the videos are really fun. This one features Shana, a Costa Rican model who incorporates coconut oil into her beauty routine. Check it out:
Of course, having genetic gifts doesn't hurt, either...

I just don't get how something that helps you get a tan can also protect your skin from the sun? I've heard other people talking about using it on their hair, so I'd be down to try it on my locks.
1While I was in Fiji I was introduced to cocunut oil and it really does make your skin soft and your locks all nice and I HIGHLY recommend it!
2Oh my, she's beautiful & adorable all at the same time!
I might try this on my skin. I currently use Neutrogena Sesame Oil, in the winter time. I put it on right before I get out of the shower. I'm sure the coconut oil will smell yummy & cost less.
3I agree PJ! Gorgeous & cuteness in one.
I use products with sunflower oil in it, it works good but it smells kinda weird. Coconut oil sounds way better.
4Adn it smells super yummy too!!!
5Fashionstar, good point. I actually think she's a wrong to think that coconut oil protects your skin from the sun. It doesn't—only SPF can do that. But as Ashcwebb says, it *is* really softening and lovely on skin.
And I agree with the rest of you, this girl is adorable and stunning at the same time. Her hair is amazing — so voluminous and pretty. She reminds me of the kind of girl you'd be intimidated by at first, but then you talk with her and think, "Aw! She's down-to-earth!"
6I buy containers of it at the health food store that are meant for cooking. It works amazingly well and smells a little like toasted coconut. I'm a big fan.
7its one of my fave smells-love the body shop coconut body butter x
8It is really good for both...doesn't help with sun protection, but it locks in moisture, it seems heavenly, and you can get a large jar at Whole Foods or Trader Joes for less than $15. It lasts me, my husband, and my son a good three months.
9Im allergic to coconut oil... such a shame!
10I use a coconut oil by Dabur Vatika. I love to rub it into my hair, the scent is yummy and my scalp gets a nice massage.
11I loooooove coconut oil. It tastes good in food and works wonders for my dry, frizzy wavy hair.
I actually find it kind of drying on my skin, though.
12My grandma gave me that trick...shes been doing it for a long time. It smells great and works...luv coconut everything.
13I like it in hair products and on my legs, but I strictly avoid putting it on my face ever since reading that it can cause breakouts in The Skin Type Solution. I swear by that book, it's made such a huge difference in my skin. I'm so thankful for how my skin looks now that I'm too scared to go against anything it says!
14yeah I've been using this for a while usually after i was my hair and i want it to recover fast and not be dry. it works great. i got it in a little glass jar like that as well but i melted it and put it in a spray bottle that way its easier to apply or hair or skin. i don't put it on my face though. from the neck down actually. Ooh and i love that my boyfriend loves the smell it brings him closer lol.

16Coconut oil does wonders! I flat-iron my hair regularly, but I get countless compliments on my shiny, healthy hair. I massage it in once a week as a deep conditioner; it's easily as good as or better than any pricey, high end hair mask.
