I hate to be the bearer of this news, but did you know that tinted moisturizer is really just face primer mixed with a light foundation? It's easy enough to make it yourself if you own these two products already. Here's what to do:
In a small bowl, mix two parts foundation with one part primer. Apply with your fingertips and smooth out the areas around your jawline, hairline and nose with a makeup sponge. Store the rest in a cool, dry and clean container and make sure it's sealed tightly to lock out bacteria!

And the good news is that if you make it yourself you don't have to worry about the fact that it only comes in three colors. Thanks for this.
1wow, i really gotta get some. my face gets so dry...then makeup makes it oily.
2I want to get some primer...is there a post with suggestions on good ones to buy?
3I had no idea, I will definitely try this my face gets so dry this time of the year.
4Smashbox makes a fantastic primer!!! I think it is the best-selling kind. I use it and say it's worth the hype! It has SPF in it too...
5I like Smashbox' primer, but i also want to try Benefit's That Gal. Anyone tried it?
6I've heard good things about Smashbox and Laura Mercier. I have a sample of Tarte but never been used.
7wait! so tinted moisturizer doesn't really moisturize?
8I tried Bobby Brown Tinted Moisturizer and I usually grow things after that
9I have no idea why it happens to me
As far as primer goes, the smashbox one does exactly what it promises, but beware if your acne prone. I prefer primers with less silicone in them. A lot of people I know (including myself) develop cystic acne when using it because if your prone to clogged pores the silicone makes a seal over them, trapping in dirt, bacteria, and not allowing them to breathe. I've heard good things about the new Primte Time from BE though!
10I LOVE THIS TECHNIQUE of making a moisturizing tinted foundation primer. it's an AWESOME alternative to wearing a full face of makeup on those days when u just wanna go 'bare' but not SCARY BARE LOL. i've mixed some of my own and use it underneath a bit of concealer, add blush & mascara and voila! simple basic 'clean' face
