I'll back her up on this. I own 6 ELF brushes. They're all great, especially for the price!

I own some ELF brushes, too, and love them. The only complaint is that the handle popped off two of the brushes, but it was easy to repair with a bit of glue. Still makes them a good buy.

I LOOOOVE ELF brushes too! I bought the whole set! My favorite is the total face brush (for any type of face powder) and the eye smudge brushes. GREAT BUYS!

I have the whole set- plus duplicates. The handle fell off of two and easily glued, but that even has happened to SEVERAL of my Bobby Brown ones. I use the foundation brush as well as the eye smudge every day. For $1- can't beat them. FYI- about a week ago I got an email from elf that they started selling nail polish. May try if I need to replenish anything.

Sofi, I tried the nail polish. The colors are nice and the coverage was smooth. It chipped really fast, though. (I skipped a clear topcoat.) For a dollar, though, I was happy.

i wish i could find their cosmetics nearby. the store where i bought the brushes has a very small selection, but nothing in a color i thought would flatter me. i would love to try their nail polish!

Where can I find these? Sounds like a great deal!!

I keep hearing good things about these brushes, but the handles are too long to fit into my makeup bag!! They need to come out with "travel" versions. . . . .

Some Targets carry their stuff, but probably not everything. You should be able to find out on their site if there is a Target nearby. If you sign up for their newsletter, you get great promo codes (I know, how much cheaper can it be).

Yup, ELF is great! As many of you say the handles can come off, but you can fix it. I love the ones for eyeshadows, for only 1$ you can have one for each color! And the eyelash and brow brush is a staple brush every girl should have, to separate the lashes in between coats of mascara. One brush I had to throw away was the eyeliner brush, it was way to stiff (ouch!). I buy them on drugstore.com.

I should try them out! I'm obsessed with makeup brushes almost as much as the makeup itself.

i love the ELF line! i only have the eyeshadow and eyebrow brushes since i have other brushes that I spent more money on. The bristles on the brushes are great though - on some cheap brands, you can tell the quality isn't great based on the coarseness of the brushes, but ELF's are great!

as for the cosmetics - the eyeshadows are cool and for $1, you can't go wrong.

Wow, I am SHOCKED to see so many positive reviews. I figured for less than $20 I'd give it a try, and bought one of the brush package kits a while ago. I hated them so much, I threw them out after one use. I thought they were scratchy, and the hairs started to shed immediately. I went out a bough a set of Body Shop brushes shortly after for almost $100, but every penny was worth it -- they are fabulous. Personally, I wouldn't waste the money on ELF brushes... the quality is as cheap as the products.

I agree with julieulie...I ordered a bronzer and it was so crumbly I had to throw it out. The white eyeliner I purchased was almost impossible to apply- I had to apply so much pressure and drag it across my eye line that it hurt! Also, their customer service is terrible. Recently I placed a big order, and everything but two products were in stock. Now I can respect the unavailability of products, but they didn't even inform me and give me the option of changing my mind on my order! They ended up shipping the two items, with a shipping cost of $7 or so(to Canada). It was ridiculous. And when I wrote to complain to Customer Service, I never got a response. I'd much rather pay more for high end cosmetics for better quality and customer service.

Maybe the way they're made is inconsistent.. some might be better than others. But a lot of high-end brushes are like that too. I've even heard of some MAC brushes not working out as well despite positive reviews. I guess it's just important to inspect & test everything before you buy, even if it's only $1! I'm willing to give the ELF brushes a shot.

I definitely agree- ELF brushes are wonderful! I have a full set, and though I've had some handle trouble too, they're easily fixable. Many Targets don't carry as a many products as K-Mart (pretty much the only reason I go there, mine is really ghetto), and if you want the full selection, you'll have to look online. Well worth it.
I am absolutely in LOVE with their glosses as well, and the all over cover stick makes for a quick (albeit a bit greasy), heavy-duty concealer for my super super pale skin. I actually overheard a woman asking an employee where she could find ELF at Target today, and gave her the scoop!

i ordered the following brushes:

total face brush (BAD brush. sheds like crazy, has a weird chemical smell to it and not that soft. washing it just made it shed more and didn't get rid of the smell either)

smudge brush (works just fine... it has one of those foam smudge tips like you find on the end of eyeliner pencils... i heard that it comes off easily though)

concealer brush (this would work fine if it wasn't so small...)

eyeshadow brush (best brush ever. it came off the handle but like the others i just glued it back. it's soft, doesn't shed and works perfectly.)

There may be a few out there that ended up with the end of the dip stick. I have a couple of sets. They are great. And more their new ones "Studio" one. Those are even softer than the first white ones. And for the price you can't go wrong. I have bought other brands like Ulta and Sphora and E.L.F. Studio brushes to me are just as good. Yay!!!!!!!!!!Love them. Me personally if that was to happen to me I would have taken it back and spoke to the manager even if for $1 and gotten an exchange. Like I said maybe you ended up with one bad one out of that batch. Give them a try...or should I say another try. : )
