How does Michelle Pfeiffer stay so stunningly beautiful? Not with extensive beauty routines, according to a new interview. Instead of opting for drastic plastic surgery or spending tons of money on fancy face creams, she has a low-maintenance approach to beauty. She tells the Times:
On her routine: “I can go months, years without a mani. I never pluck my eyebrows. The make-up artists shape them only when I am doing publicity. I don’t get my hair cut between films, just when I work and I have to. As far as body maintenance goes, I do eat well and I exercise. I go at it hardcore in my gym, but that’s it.”
On warding off signs of age: “I don’t do that much to preserve. I used to worship the sun when I was younger – I’m a southern Californian girl, it was all baby oil and beach life – but now I get white spots, so I stay out of the sun. I really have to. And, you know, I read about some miracle product and think, ‘I should try that, it’s going to be great. I’m going to get that cream,’ and sometimes I go out and buy it, but I forget to use it after two weeks, or I get a rash.”

On cosmetic surgery: “I don’t think anyone is going to be condemned for a little something done here or there, but people have lost sight of what’s beautiful. There’s a lot that you can do surgically and otherwise to make yourself look younger, yes – but not necessarily better.”
Of course, lucking out in the gene pool doesn't hurt, either. Still, it's refreshing to see an actress be so down-to-earth about her appearance. Maybe deciding to stop stressing out about aging is part of the key to looking the way she does. What do you think?

Ok, now I hate her! LOL!! j/k, she's gorgeous
1She proves that genes have a lot to do with how one ages...She is GORGEOUS, good for her.
2yea we should all be so lucky!
3timeless michelle
4You know what, though? This is going to sound corny, but I really believe part of her beauty comes from a sense of self-esteem. She's always been very composed and classy, with a certain peace about her. GiggleSugar and I had dinner last night and we were talking about that concept, that being happy with yourself genuinely makes you more attractive. And I see that kind of contentment in Michelle.
Still, genetics. Boy, did she luck out!
5Ditto to that bella!
6I think that she is so classy and pretty. I want to look like her.
7so basically she was genetically blessed and we should all just wish that we looked like that "naturally" haha
8Definitely self-esteem and contentment both go along way in helping your looks. But I totally get what she says about exercise helping her stay young. I ran a half marathon yesterday and I swear I look 10 years younger today, lol!
9She is one of the most beautiful women around. I hope I look half that good at her age.
10I love her!! Such a gorgeous person.
11LOVE her attitude
12I agree with you bellasugar in terms of self-esteem being related to beauty. People with a strong sense of self who don't focus only on their physical appearance, but instead (or in addition to) focus on other aspects of their lives such as their intellectual and spiritual sides makes for a very attractive person. But having good genes, such as Michelle does, is a nice blessing! She is a class act and a classic beauty!!
13I'm a huge Michelle fan, but I really do think she had a little something done. She looks great though and I love her sensibility.
14i can't belive she's 49 she looks great
15well.....I went to high school with michelle in fountain valley, california and she quite obviously had her nose done (its very tiny now). I still admire her attitude about keeping things in perspective. her old nose fit her face more-perhaps she was pressured back when she started out in hollywood. She always was a complex person which made her so interesting.
16Hmmm...so she lives like a bum if other poeple don't make her look pretty ...
17what a beauty!! going to the gym makes you sweat & cleans out your pores..maybe i need to get back to that..
this woman looks great!!
18THAT is a beautiful woman.
19I totally agree with you, Bella. The other day I realised how some people just make you happy and put you in a good mood because they're naturally smiling and nice. Guess it's something to bear in mind, sometimes trying to smile makes your day a bit better instead of keeping you moody all the time.
But jup, I thought too she'd had plastic surgery!
