Ever been stuck in a bind when your nail polish is chipping and you need it off ASAP? Or how about when you are trying on several different nail colors in the middle of a department store but don't want to walk around with a fistful of mismatched nails for the rest of the day? Here's a little trick that always seems to work.
Simply swipe a layer of clear nail polish over the top of the colored polish (it's easier if the polish underneath is still wet) and firmly press down on your nail with a cotton pad or tissue. This will help to break down the color and wipe everything clean.

I know it seems like a lot to ask to carry around a bottle of clear nail polish with you, but if you can leave a bottle at work, in the car and lying around wherever you frequent, it sure might come in handy for all different kinds of unexpected beauty emergencies!

Hmmmm I don't know why but I cant imagine that working...
1It actually does work. For whatever reason clear polish rejuvenates the polish underneath. I did my nails last night and although my color was try when I put a clear coat on and accidentally bumped it I noticed some of the color came off.
I have a really bad habit of peeling my polish off in the shower. The warm water makes it really easy to pull off in one piece. Its bad for the nail though
2I carry around nailpolish removal cloths that come in individual packages. A bit of a waste packaging-wise, but one will take the polish off all your fingers & I rarely use them. They're great for emergencies on the go.
3Awesome, that's a great tip!
4wow I didnt know..
5that's a pretty old trick i read in a magazine when i was a teenager
6I've done that when i was younger and lazier... but it seems like a waste of money to go through a bottle of clear polish just to remove more polish. I think it'd be easier and more cost effective to just buy the portable polish remover wipes
7Really?? I've never tried that before.
I usually only do clear or a pale pink on my fingernails though, that way I don't even have to deal with noticeable chips.
8I use clear nail polish to fix my nails when they accidently hit something while still drying.
I think it would be easier to just carry nail polish remover around instead of a clear polish..? Or is that weird..?
9I've used polish as polish remover in a pinch. It doesn't have to be clear, but clear is easiest to use because colored will leave some behind if you don't get it quick enough. And you can be messier with clear.
