Get a load of these beauties from around the world. Famous actresses such as Debbie Matenopolous (Greek-American), Catherine Deneuve (French), Sophia Loren (Italian), Lucy Liu (Chinese-American) and Gisele Bundchen (Brazilian) all epitomize the beauty traits that each of these countries are known for.
Now, it's not like I've trotted the globe trying all of the latest and greatest beauty treatments (although that would be a dream come true) but I have had the opportunity to try out some of the great imports that have crossed oceans to get to the United States. Below is a five post round-up filled with fun facts about global beauty—as well as my top picks for beauty products from Greece, France, Italy, China and Brazil. I hope you've enjoyed this series as much as I have.

It was awesome! Thanks Bella for all the insightful tips
1Great article! I'm definitely interested in some of these products. I really hope this article isn't finished because I want to know what our African, Caribbean, Middle Eastern ladies are using, too!
2It's a big world out there — I'll definitely be looking at more countries and regions in the future. Lately I'm obsessed with argan oil, which is from Morocco. I think we'll be seeing this ingredient get more popular!
3I'm all about emu oil
4So Lucy Liu is up these because shes Chinese and uses "Chinese beauty prodcuts"? Shes Chines American, that was..almost funny. Mostly sad. Try Gong Li or Zhang Ziyi.
5Great research! Keep it coming
Argan oil is so hype in France among natural and
organic cosmetics users, they use it for anti-wrinkle and for hair moisturizing. Not indicated for me because I don't have dry skin but works good for preventing split ends on hair. (Shea
butter, argan oil, henne hair color, monoi tahiti oil... I love natural products!)
6Wow, what a fascinating article! I'll definitely be checking some of these out.
7This is sort of related to pintsized's post, but I don't think Lucy Liu really epitomizes any East Asian ideal of beauty. Seriously, there's a big difference between her appearance and that of native movie stars and celebrities. This reminds me of a documentary I saw on the difference between what Koreans view as beautiful (fair skin, large eyes, double eyelids, petite jaw, small nose, etc.) and what Westerners consider to be beautiful _for_ Koreans (for the most part, 'traditional' Asian eyes and other 'exotic' features--colonialism, anyone?).
8Can we say one of these things just doesn't belong. Catherine Denevure! Sophia Loren! And... Debbie Matenopolous? Really? Jeez.
9True RMF587 I was thinking the same thing.
10Greek actresses of the same range of Deneuve and Loren would be Irene Papas and Melina Mercuri. If somebody preferes Greek-American (which I would not understand in a similar article) there are more renown actresses than Matenopoulos (like maybe Aniston, Maria Menounos even Olympia Doukakis!)
