Julia Roberts must be having a good weekend. On Friday, she was honored at the American Cinematheque Awards. Is it too much of an understatement to say that she is just as beautiful now as she was as an ingenue? Speaking of former ingenues, Natalie Portman was there to help celebrate Julia's accomplishments. She opted to pull her hair back in a youthful up-do.
When you go to formal events, which way do you go? Do you go for tumbling, sexy hair like Julia or do you let your face take center stage like Natalie?

Boots
Long and wavy usually for me
*me too...or sometimes up*
Usually down or 1/2 up.
I prefer wearing mine all up, but not in a severe or dramatic way. I like soft/loose updos. And half-up is pretty too. I think it overall depends on the dress you're wearing...
I love contests!
Both! I love to mix it up at each event.
I feel more glamorous with an updo, but down is how I usually do it.
flow
I let it flow...
I have one slightly sticky out ear.. plus if i drink champagne my ears go red!! Otherwise id have my hair up
Yeah, I do both. It really depends on the event and the "audience." Haha. ;D
both!
i always struggle to decide how to wear my hair to formal events. so difficult.
I like mine down or half up =)
I like mine down or half up =)
Baruch HaShem, Natalie! If you ever want to be as hot as me you're gonna need to wipe that sh*t off your mouth!!
I prefer my hair down, but if it's a formal event... I feel a little obligated to be more conservative.
I prefer to wear my hair down but it really depends on the dress.
Well if I knew how to do an updo i'd probably do it. It depends on the dress I think. But I usually curl my long wavy hair on the ends so it looks nicer than if I just left it sraight.
Up!
it depends on the dress.
It depends on the dress. I usually like my hair down cuz I'm self conscious of showing ALL of my face. Yet, Natalie's hair looks so pretty here!
It depends on what hairstyle compliments the dress I'm wearing the best...
It depends on the event, and how much time I have or am willing to spend on my hair that day. What I'm wearing also comes into play.
For the most part I've worn it down because I have a round face..if I wear it up my face looks like a big balloon
i usually just run a comb through my hair and go. sometimes i'll do a low & loose side pony tail.
if i'm in a wedding or something like that, i'll get it done in an updo. i don't have the skill, time, or patience to do it myself.
Ahhhh I think it just deodned on what kind of occassion it is. Like grad, I just had my hairstylist put it up...but if I don't have to money or time or it's it not that formal...then I just wear it down
It depends. If I am going to be dancing at a wedding, then I let it down, flow baby flow! But if I am going to a black tie event for work and I'll be standing around with a glass of champagne all night looking pretty, then I'll wear it up.
For things like partys with my friends I leave it down, becasue if you try to curl it or put it up it will eventually fall,or the curls will be a complete disaster, trust me. For events where you'll be standing around for hours chatting and drinking then do an updo or do loose curls.
depends on the outfit and the event
yeah, flow with big curls or waves is the best I think
Usually up...it's down for every day so I feel more dressed when it's up.
usually up! so show off the dress more and my jewelry
Let it flow.
