Welcome back to the second installment of Beautiful Bangs for Your Face Shape. Yesterday we talked about bangs for round faces and today we are looking at the best bang styles for those of you with square faces.
This rare face shape belongs to some seriously sexy A-list stunners such as Katie Holmes, Kate Walsh, Jessica Simpson, Sandra Bullock, Paris Hilton, Mandy Moore, Demi Moore, Audrey Hepburn and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
Things to keep in mind if you have a square face is that layered bangs that fall to or below your eyebrows are very flattering, especially if they are swept off to the side. Fringey and wispy bangs look great, too, since they will soften the edges of your face shape.
Cuts to avoid are blunt bangs or airy bangs that come to your jawline (a common look for a chin-length bob), as these types of bangs will only cause your face to look sharp—and not in the good way.

I think mine is oval...how would you tell?
1yeah I'm bad at telling my face shape too...
2I'm pretty sure mine is square... which is kinda weird... lol
3Jessica has a Tom Brady chin.
4I did the hair makeover thing from instyle and i can't tell if i have a square or round face. there's a frame thing that allows you to tell, but neither one is a perfect fit. anyways - i have discovered that i need bangs - definitely sideswept ones like those you featured here or on the round face! i think it's time for a new hairdo!
5My face is oval-shaped...not square at all, so I guess this style wouldn't work on me! Bangs aren't my favorite anyway, I had them for wayyyy too many years growing up, I don't think I'll ever have more than a few wispy bangs...and that's even doubtful.
6oval... but kinda circley-ish.
7i look great in bangs but i never have
time to blow dry them. lol. they greaw already.

8I have a square face with high cheekbones...I used to have bangs back in the day, but they look silly if I either let them go curly with the rest of my hair, or if I straighten them and let the rest of my hair go curly. And I don't have either the skill nor the patience to flat iron my hair daily.
9I've had the same style for the past 3 years...long layers in the front, one length in the back. I like my curls, but I'm tired of having the same style.
love it
10I have few bangs, but I think I will give this look a try. I have a squarish face and i've been sort of iffy about doing something with them. This gives me some great ideas, thanks!
11One bang never to try for any face shape I can safely say is the bowl cut bangs.
12all of these Bliss products have made me want to go to Sephora & go shopping. Now you've cost me too much money...please help!!!
13old trick on how to figure out your face shape: look in the mirror and carefully trace the shape of your face (on the mirror) w/ a bar of sope. Then determine whether it is more oval, square, round or heart-shaped.
14I have an ugly square face :/ I don't like it
15I want to have a more delicate-looking face shape.
I already made my own side bangs, its really "the thing" at my school... even if it doesn't look good on everyone -_______-
I can't get the Katie Holmes and Paris Hilton photos to come up.
16I need help, got a squarish face and a high forehead..I always had this layered sideswept style bangs for years & I wanted to have a straight one this time, with the length just below my eyebrow...would it be good?
