Okay, seriously, how is it November already? It seems like it was just last week when we were gallivanting in warm weather, and now I'm already planning my Thanksgiving shopping list. Sheesh, time flies. But along with the Tofurky shopping, I'm going to be doing some beauty shopping for this chilly month. Here are my picks:

Body: To stop flaky skin before it starts, be sure to moisturize your body right after stepping out of the shower. Instead of rubbing your body dry, use your towel to pat it. Then, rub a lotion into it. This will help "seal" moisture into your skin. I'm planning to pick up Lavanila body butter ($25) because I keep hearing great things about its vanilla scent.
Face: Flawless skin is paramount for the holiday season, especially if you are going to wear red or bold lipstick. I suggest a loose powder to set your skin, like this one from Laura Mercier. It comes in two shades, one for fair complexions and one for dark complexions.
Lips: My lips tend to get chapped beginning in November, so I'm planning to stock up on lip balm. Origins has just come out with a line of certified-organic products, including this Soothing Lip Balm ($15). The shea- and cocoa butter formula has oils of sunflower, safflower, palm, coconut and vanilla. Sounds good enough to eat.
Nails: I'm beginning to have a little bit of fatigue when it comes to the dark-polish trend, so I'm taking a break with this shimmery deep rose from Zoya. It's called Ivy, and it's free of toluene and formaldehyde.
Hair: With winter coming, hair tends to dry out a little bit in the cooler air. This Restorative Hair Treatment ($21) from Ojon is a best-seller for a reason. You can use it as a deep conditioning treatment, a leave-in conditioner, or a shine-boosting product.
So those are my picks. What about yours? Any essential buys we should all know about?

This Ojon hair treatment is very appealing to me.
1love that nail polish color
2OMG, lovveeee that nail polish color...reminds me of "I'm Not Really A Waitress" by OPI. My favorite shade.
3i am dying to try the ojon.
4I also am curious about the Ojon treatment, thanks for the feature Bella. But the reason our hair gets dry is probably not the cold weather outside, but the heat inside from radiators and such. Wool hats probably don't help either.
5i have the lavanila body butter in grapefruit vanilla. it's so yummy and moisturizing. i love that i can still get a bit of the scent lingering at the end of the day when i go to do yoga...so relaxing.
6Great picks! I really want to try the Ojon hair treatment.
7I have a tub of Ojon in my cupboard right now. A friend turned me on to it, b/c I have really dry hair. It works wonders. I don't personally care for the smell of it, but I have had several people tell me that they buy it b/c the love how it smells. To each his own, I guess. But if you need a moisturizing treatment, I highly recommend it!
8I have used the Laura Mercier powder before and it's silky and very light on your face.
9I love lip balm! But the one that caught my eye was the hair product... I may have to try that one.
the ojon hair treatment is ammmazing, i tried a sample from my friends work once, i never knew there was a smaller size though for $21, i never got it cause i only knew of the $55 size, might have to get some noww
10love that healthy body butter. Me likey
11I love Ojon conditioner, it's amazing!
12I bought it whilst on holiday in the US this year, it's great stuff, it really drenches your hair with moisture.
I really want to try the Ojon. I read it's manufactured in Italy but I haven't seen it here!
13My must haves are the Boots Lip Butter, Boots Sheer Lipstick in Sheer Temptation, OPI Russian Navy polish, Boots Almond Body Butter and the new Stila Smokey Eye palette.
14I like your choice of nail colour! The black is definatly starting to loose it's coolness (thank god)!!!
15i need to hit sephora today. and i'm with you on the polish. i love my navy and royal purple polishes, but i just can't wear them every single day.
16That Zoya Ivy is lovely!
17pretty nail color..
18love the nail color and the lavanilla. I have been wanting to try the lavanilla too and the hair stuff. Who am I kidding? I want to try it all...
19I want the Origins lip balm!! Speaking of black nail polish, if I see one more preppy girl with a Dooney & Bourke bag and black nail polish, I will scream.
20i heard the ojon hair treatment is good but smells burnt.
21I've tried the ojon treatment. It was greasy and didn't work for me at all. Sy1217 is right; it does smell burnt.
22i just bought my big fall/winter pick...Nuxe Spa Dry Oil. This stuff goes on so nicely, smells amazing, and is even great on hair. I rub it into my hands, feet, elbows, knees, feet, neck, chest, and for some deep conditioning (once in a while) my scalp. That way I avoid any of the flaky dry skin that cold weather brings and that regular moisturizer doesnt always help...
I buy mine at Henri Bendel. I don't know if its on the website (though if you call the store they will ship it to you) but you can always go to the Nuxe website at www.Nuxe.com.
23I have really fine, thin hair..and all of the Ojon products I've tried have made my hair one HUUUUGE oil slick!!! So bad that I had to get back in the shower and re-wash my hair.
24I use the Ojon, love the nail color, I'll have to try it.
25I wouldn't use the Ojon unless you have a lot of hair or severly dry hair. It's not a good fit for fine hair. I have one of their lighter conditioning sprays (dual-layered) and I love it. The smell is amazing!
26I'm adding the Bliss Fabulous Face Wash to the list. I just love that stuff! I usually use a more medicinal face wash (Proactive), but during the winter, my face gets too dry. So I switched to the Bliss face wash and I love it!! It smells so good and has just the right amount of exfoliator in it. The best is how my skin feels after I use it. Clean, not dry/tight.
Ojon ~ this was my birthday gift to all my friends this year! they love it, as do i! the sent is wonderful!
27The nail polish is so pretty and I have to try the ojon.
28I just want to make a comment about the ojon deep conditioner, if you have thick, coarse and wavy hair....don't waste the money. It didn't do a single thing for my hair. Oh and it smells awful.
