Demeter's fragrances are original and clever, and the company always comes up with a simple scent I hadn't imagined as a wearable fragrance. The question is, should they? For every amazing scent such as Vanilla Ice Cream, there's a stinker like Play-Doh. Unfortunately, I have to count Crayon in the latter category.
I won't bore you with purple prose about how Crayon smells, because if you've ever smelled Crayola, you know exactly what this fragrance is like. To Demeter's credit, they've bottled the essence of crayons so precisely that one whiff takes me back to preschool. (It really is a Proustian thing, especially since, well, toddlers are prone to gnawing on crayons.) But as spot-on as the scent is, I can't think of a single occasion when wearing this would be up my alley. If you've been yearning to smell of Burnt Sienna or Brick Red, though, it's perfect for yours.

I like SOME of Demeter's scents, I have Angel Food and Sugar Cookie...but some of them are so weird.

12Am I the only person who doesn't think these (Crayon, Play Doh, etc.) are really meant to be worn? They seem more like novelties tgo which you might give the occasional sniff and be transported back to a simpler time, when kids could roam the neighborhoods chasing fireflies without fear and parental accompaniment, to a time when childhood actually still existed.

14Demeter makes a Dirt scent, too, which smells precisely like its namesake. No one really wants to smell like dirt, now do they? Demeter's not trying to be Guerlain and create lush, intoxicating fragrances... They are working an entirely different concept.
Yeah, Dirt is absolutely disgusting and I really don't think it's meant to be worn. On the other hand, I am addicted to their Gingerale and Creamsicle scents.

Demeter doesn't last long on so I just assumed you were purchasing it for your own pleasure. Cool Idea. I give them credit for being creative!

19They have some really strange scents out there. It's awesome that they can bottle a scent like that but it's definitely not worth it since no one would wear that.

22I love the Demeter Library. I bought a bottle of Mojito for Christmas vacation [it was on sale at Sephora for $1], and now every time we're in a bar and someone orders a Mojito ... my boyfriend thinks about me and the wild time we had on that vacation.
