The jolie Eva Green took a cue from her fellow Frenchwoman Marion Cotillard by wearing smoky eyes to a movie premiere. But at last night's premiere of The Golden Compass, she opted for bold, matte red lips. Mixing these two dramatic looks can be tricky, even for a movie star. Do you think she pulls it off?

I am a little bit in love with her, so she could wear whatever and I'd probably still think it looked great.
Pretty.
Waaaay too much makeup..
i'd like it more if her skin didn't look ashy and uneven in the forehead area.
Too much!
I think it's a bit much. Pick one or the other.
It might have worked ok had the rest of her makeup been better! I think maybe stick to eyes OR lips.
i did red lips like this once...unintentionally. i forgot to put the tone down color on before i went into the party! (it was Nars Russian Red, or Red Square, something like that). so my lips were straight up matte red.
all my friends were there, and many people i didn't know. I'd say 100 people. I remember walking in and peopel smiling at me, and kind of cocking their heads a little. mostly positive. then i stopped to chat with one of my girlfriends. I said, man, there must be something going on with my face tonight. everyone is looking at me different! and she said OH YEAH, LET ME WIPE THAT OFF. it was so funny! all my friends had different reactions. some thought it was really bold and edgy and looked good. and some couldn't wait to wipe it off my face. it was a total demo on personality and color choice. in my case i didn't know my lips were that red, so i just walked around as confident as ever.
She's got too much makeup on. I've seen some looks that have a bolder eye and a red lip, but this is too much.
Eva is one of the few, who could pull this look off. And she does so splendidly!
Too much makeup!!!
just dıont think its her best look but she is still beautiful
too much make-up.
She looked gorgeous in Casino Royale, but not when she looks like this. The lips look good, but she needs to tone down the eyes.
The lips look great BUT the pink cheeks, overdone eyes and caky foudation does not let us focus on that fab lip color.
I think all the make-up gives her a hard look.
I love red lips, but they need to be done with a more classic eye. This is a little over the top.
I actually think she pulls it off. She's undeniably a damn gorgeous woman!
Yes, WAY too much make-up!
She needs lighter eyes with those lips or lighter liips with those eyes!
I'm sorry - I love her and her drama.
Me too fab! So sultry and sexy!
I absolutely love it! She know how to do this "right"
You know I thought she was very annoying in Casino Royale. I think she looks very pretty here, I love her pale skin and blue-ish eyes with the dark eye shadow and red lips. I think she pulled it of beautifully. I had no idea she was French!
That chick is Haggered!
Unless you are Christina Aguilera, park the red lipstick with the smokey eyes at home honey...
She's a Hot Mess.
Either its bold eyes OR bold lips. You cant do bold eyes AND bold lips or you end up looking like a Tranny hooker.
I like her lips but the rest of the makeup is terrible.
She looks very French and classy even though she's wearing so much makeup. I'm undecided though because it really is too much makeup. The eye makeup is gorgeous but the lips, with or without the smokey eyes, are too much.
She's gorgeous, and she doesn't need so much makeup! Red lips, black eyes, pink cheeks...she's all over the place. If the lips or eyes were even a little less bold, she'd be stuunning.
I am of the belief that you should pick either the eyes or lips to do up - not both - but she actually looks pretty good. Or at least better than anyone else would with so much makeup. She's soooooo beautiful. Just... gorgeous.
I wouldn't pick this look for the office, but it works for a movie premiere! I like it. She looks edgy and a bit evil.
too much makeup and I hate how she always looks like she's trying to look sexy.
Works with her face.
She looks good.
it's reminiscent of old hollywood when they went with dramatic eyes AND a strong lip. i know that these days, you're 'supposed' to only play up one of those, but i think it works on her. however, her face seems to be two different tones - her forehead and cheeks don't match.
Shes's such a beautiful woman, but I've always thought there's something wrong with the way she wears her eye makeup. It always looks...dirty or something.
I think it's too much, even for her.
I love it! She is one of the few people who can pull it off just perfectly!
it is nice but looks..I dunno..dingy?
so I chose hate it..
"love" is a strong word. if anyone can pull this off it's Eva "spooky woman" Green.
I absolutely love it in that it's a bold, dramatic look only a French woman could get away with. She sizzles! On anybody else it would be too much.
I hate it, I hate her ! She might be french, i might be french, that doesn't make my hate for her less powerful. She's so pretentious and everything. AND - she's not that beautiful.
The makeup could have been nice with eyes a little less bold.
Sorry, but the whole bright red on a pale face just doesn't work for me at all.
I love how she is quite gothic in a glamourous way. But I would like to see her looking more natural for a change.
Too much!
I don't think those two go together. I think the lips make it too harsh
whorish...yep! took a second look.
very beautiful
i don't know why, but i have something against bright red lips. i dunno, it just brings to mind little old ladies trying to compensate for wrinkles and stuff by smothering themselves in lipstick.
i do love dramatic eyes though, especially jewel tones
I really like this look on her...Eva always takes chances on her clothing and make up and she pulls it off.
I think she pulls it off, though I think this isn't the greatest picture of her.
